Paintball videos which are just clips with music are lazy and boring.

Stock class is overrated. Yeah the guns are lighter (which is not even true for brass), but having to carry tubes and 12ies and constantly reloading is super annoying. Playing open class (hopper-ball, pod packs suck too) with no AT forces careful aiming as much as stock class but without all the hassle.

Choice of gear does not make a player honorable or hardcore. There are plenty of inept guys with little in the way of sportsmanship playing pump or mag fed.
The twist lock barrel should have been the industry standard. Airgun Designs nailed that option.
FSR players don't impact a game nearly as much as folks pretend they do.

I actually prefer Tippmann 98 or Ion/Impulse threads over twist lock. Twist lock is definitely faster, but having to line it up and twist the correct was is just not idiot proof enough. And having the detent integrated into the barrel is less than ideal in my opinion, but that is debatable.
Quick thread cocker barrels are a least a slight improvement on the awful thread we have all become saddled with.

Playing in tournaments (at any level) does not make you better or your opinions to carry more authority.

Twistlock barrels > threaded barrels.
RAP4 pull-through squeegees > Exalt Barrel Maids.
There's no such thing as an accurate barrel or gun.
Expectation bias is the reason why bore-matching is a thing.
Underboring up to ~.010 does not break paint.
There's far too much tribalism in paintball and not nearly enough appreciation for all the different styles of play that we have available to us nowadays.

heyzeus I can jive with that. I love stock class play, but 12g use has never quite sit right with the environmental part of me. Stick feed w/ constant air is my favorite play style.
-
I think the environmental impact of a 12g is negligible, considering the alternative is the manufacture of an HPA tank and its regulator. (Economic costs and environmental costs are often similar, unless it's a rare material like cobalt.) But I agree, CA with a stick is a great alternative. I'd play that style all day.

You're welcome to your opinion, of course, but "My opinion is more important because I'm rich!" doesn't really fly, okay?

My point, I guess, was on the "gimmickry" of bolts- 'venturi' faces, spring loaded, Starfire, that idiot "diffuser" that the early Spyders had...
For a 'Cocker- and hey, I'm a 'Cocker guy- you just need a well-fitted delrin bolt, with a single hole the same size as the valve exhaust port, all the way through. Much else is needless gadgetry.

Any decent looking cocker probably still has %80+ of the block left.
Nearly all “tournament” style Nelson clones pump better out of the box than a Phantom does after $100 worth of add ons. Also, the color never comes off the barrel.
Sterlings pump better than all Nelsons stock, as well as some cockers (the color does come off the barrel though).
CCMs are beautiful but so are low rider bicycles and sometimes I can’t tell the difference.
Mag Fed, FSR, airsoft, offshore guns, the whole trend towards tan colored plastic, expensive clips, designing the gun to be as complex as possible while at the same time building it as cheaply as possible, and of course wantonly dumping garbage in the woods...it isn’t going to last. It’s going to get much much worse, and then it’s going burn out completely. Hopefully all those stupid video games that spawned this crap will die off also.
If you don’t know how to make anything useful by yourself, a 3D printer is not going to change that. Neither is your next 3D printer, or the next one. From welding to whittling, there is usually a faster, cheaper, longer lasting alternative to 3D printing for almost any project. Also, that stuff is absolutely not “carbon fiber”. Come up with another name for it.

I found out the 3d printer part myself. I bought one planning to use it all the time and I think I've printed.... 1 thing I actually used for a project. I'm terrible at CAD and so I never want to try and make anything with it. When I ended up getting a mill and lathe I find I use it for nearly everything since I can actually work with material and not CAD.

100% agree with the Nelson comment. I was always a Sniper guy, but really liked Phantoms as well. That is, until I got my Kingman Hammer. Spyder threads, brass guts, can't beat it. Polish up the brass and it's smooth as butter. Throw a Freak on same she's accurate as hell.

I'll state possibly the most unpopular opinion of all around here,
Scenarios were better when it was more about paintball and less about hanging out and drinking.
I miss playing goofy stuff on Friday night, and the Saturday night game. I want more then 12 hours of paintball over the weekend.
