The more slaby the cocker the better.

There are NO .68 calibre pistols that are good for a secondary.

Probably not so unpopular on this board, but in my experience on the field they tend to be:

      -Mil-Sim is silly

-Being a "tourney player" in walk on games (or in general really) is silly

-Camouflage isn't really all that important

-Twist Lock barrels are overrated among the mag crowd - coarse thread winds up being about the same and you don't have the barrel act as your breech

-In general too much importance is put on not getting shot out

-Underboring is what we should be doing

-Walk on games should be limited to ~8 bps

-STBB guns are great and generally reliable (some companies not withstanding...)

I'm probably forgetting some but those are the main ones.

        Well....since we’re after unpopular opinions...

Wearing pads (to dull pain of being shot) breeds crappy players — sort of like a car with blind spot sensors or cars who park themselves breeds crappy drivers — learn to park, be observant and pay the **** attention to your surroundings.

Eliminating the pain of getting shot only makes you lazy and careless on the field. If you want to get good, loose the pads, take a hit, and wear that welt with pride. You’ll learn real fast how to play strategically, work with your teammates and NOT get shot when it hurts like hell.

However, I also admit that pads have helped the sport grow since it allows more people to play without “fear”.

Agree 100% with the exception of my noggin. Too many point blank dome shots has me wearing my flex 8 for a decade now.

Pads are used to protect me from the environment, rather than from paintball hits. After playing with knee pads, I'll never go back. Arm pads aren't quite as important, but they sure are useful if diving around like a fool.

[Providing yer not cheatin'] A hit is a hit. I won't speak for anyone else, but the pain/discomfort is mostly immaterial; being knocked out action is what matters and that's where/why the lessons are reinforced.

I couldn’t agree with you more on this. My pride taking a shot is much worse than my body....but having a nice tender welt (or 20) helps as a reminder for a few extra days.

As a side note: One of the fields I play typically only plays re-spawns, so you’re never really “out of action” ...hence my original post. When you’re playin single elimination, your post couldn’t be truer.

Right on. I can't recall ever playing a game with a respawn option, but that's a good way to shake it up.

Also, for us skinheads, a bounce hat is mandatory. There's pain, and then there's getting donked on the melon with only a ball cap in the way. Owwwwww!

Right-on. That’s a little different. I have a full head of hair... a bounce hat for you is just leveling the playing field

Using a motorized loader on a pump, even a Revy, or something that holds more than 100 balls is absurd and pointless. But you do you.

I agree and disagree. I always use a force fed hopper with my pumps, partially because I never have to jiggle it, but mainly because on the fields I play on, I am frequently shooting the gun leaning at some extreme angle and it keeps feeding.

The part I agree with is the smaller capacity part. I would love to get a 100 round hopper with a legit force feed system. I have considered designing and printing one for many years.

Memornix, there's the Inception Pico hopper that takes Halo guts and is 100 rounds.

My all time least popular opinion: If you have played long enough to own your own gear and know generally what you’re doing, you should be playing some form of limited paint (pump/sc/magfed/hopperball) in mixed (renter/owner) walk-on groups.

I see a lot of more experienced individuals playing hopperball, myself included. It's nice not carrying a pack if I don't need it.

There was a looooooong thread on this on old MCB from a few years back and wow was this an unpopular opinion. A lot of "I agree but I'm careful so I use whatever I want" thanks but that means you don't agree.

Some of the comments on your video about this are hilarious. "Pure stupidity."

Last couple years have seen the rise of jogger and these super tight around the ankle 'clown pants' as I like to call them. Most appropriate name imo. I think they look totally ridiculous and not in the tongue-in-cheek kinda ridiculous that I like.

Like the 'serious' xball players at my local fields are all wearing these now and I just shake my head every time.

I've tried those PB Rack Flow pants. They do indeed look goofy, and I felt awkward but they were actually ssuuper comfortable. I now have a pair of HK "joggers" that are less silly as the PB Rack pants. Resemble the old JT Team pants but not baggy. Also very comfortable but comparing to my trusty old BDU pants, I often think what's the point of paintball specific pants?

Sport shot style hoppers are the best size, and I wish every hopper had an option for a similar capacity.

OH! Just thought of one: For 12-gram-in-the-lower-tube Sheridans, shoot-to-pierce > instapierce. Way more reliable pierce. Worth the bloop.

This won't get much flack around here, probably moreso at pbn:

The grip frames on the geo 3.5 and the ego lv1 are too effing big. Unless i have miniature hands and no one told me. There are all kinds of low-to-mid range guns I would shoot instead. Eclipse used its reputation for reliability and performance to cover the terrible ergonomics of these guns. I would trade the oled screen for a blinking light if they could otherwise have an lv1 with an ego 7 frame.

It also is easier to tighten the knob.

I like the concept of 12 gram in lower tube but overall so much harder to change than a bucket changer so my unpopular opinion is that back bottle or vertical bottle sheridans are better than 12 gram in lower tube sheridans, despite the looks.
