After talking to a few manufacturers , all said the the body's have to be made in Asia....Now weather its just a pre made blank or excursion with upper/lower tubes . All agree no possible way these can be made in the US or EC and have an under 500.00 price point...Small parts for them, sure US or EU sure , I and the people I talked to agree,, but the body's, no way....Are the knock off Cocker wars back, Sicko ballistics , Dragon fly's and the like of old are now the Meteor and the not released Nova? Are made in China / Asia snipers going to be a thing again??

Wouldn't all non wgp bodies technically be knock offs? Either way who cares where it was make if the build quality is good and I can afford it. Yeah supporting companies that support American workers is nice and all but when the overseas ones are 1/4 the price I have to look out for the American worker most important to me, ME.

I think he was pointing less to the fact that they were called knockoffs by not being wgp and more to the lack of quality being produced by the asian manufacturers.

I can’t figure out Nova’s pricing to save my life. I love Nova… but the I feel like the expensive things should be cheaper and the cheaper things should be more expensive. Haha.

The rise of China is a direct consequence of the fall of the United States due to decades of corruption , greed and failed economic policies which greatly contributed to the rapid rise of China .

I for one detest communism , however that being said the question we should ask ourselves is what our country offers truly a better way . I personally believe capitalism is the better economic model .

Unfortunately the United States and most of the Western world do not truly embrace capitalism anymore , in true capitalistic societies citizens with entrepreneurial spirit , a good business model and hard work can succeed .

Greedy politicians and corporations afraid of competition
( Innovation ) instead hinder through burdensome regulations and tax systems as well as lopsided capital lending standards which punish the regular citizens while favoring the powerful established order .

Now that’s not to say that the regular little guy doesn’t stand any chance , it’s just a quite a bit more difficult .

We then come to another major problem….the citizenry themselves have grown accustomed to having their every desire met with imported products which are considerably cheaper then domestically produced goods forcing even more companies to produce overseas simply to stay competitive in the marketplace .

Just a note for those that weren't around during the "cocker wars" .
WGP Autococker knock offs flooded the market , price wars incurred to the point where no one could make a profit and killed every dang company that made anything on the platform of an Autococker... Lots of Lawyers, lots of lawsuits and everyone lost.... That's just the short story, but the end result...

These days of having to spend $1000+ for a new cocker is pretty rough and I welcome lower priced competition with open arms. Right now if someone doesn't have a grand to drop on a cocker they get a used one, obviously that money isnt going the manufactures

That is exactly how capitalism is supposed to work ... What you are describing as a "problem" is the intended results.

It's worth noting that Inception brought back the 'Cocker, and did well... but no longer, as I understand it, produces full markers.

Regardless of KP2's rant, the sad fact is that this sport, in general, can no longer support more than a few small manufacturers. A new company, bringing out a new product (in this case, a newly-manufactured product) is going to have a very hard time keeping the doors open. Trying to manufacture a new 'Cocker these days is a labor of love, not necessarily an avenue to big profits.

The problem is one of scale- to get good prices on one-off parts, you need to make thousands or even tens of thousands of them. And the current market won't support tens of thousands anymore.

My recommendation to people these days has been to 'start small'. Make marker parts, before you try to start making full markers.

I don't see how you can justify the autococker as a product anymore. The used cocker market has been declining for a couple years now. The used market is flooded with parts, and why innovate on an over-30 year old idea when the emek will always be better?

Labor of love is one thing. But smart business decision? Hardly.
