Emek/etha 3m ?'s

So here in a couple months I will finally have the chance to buy and build an emek/etha 3m, what I want to know is who all makes bodies and body parts for these besides ID I can't seem to find to many aftermarket bodies now compared to when the emek first dropped and it seems like there's almost none for the etha 3m, I tried looking at the bodies on shapeways but the page won't load almost like there no longer available keeps saying connection timed out, trying to load it looking at a pic on Google images

also how easy is I to make them walkable and with the full auto bolt part can you still shoot fast in semi or will it try to go full auto if shot to fast

And what is the used market like for these, if I was to buy an emek it must have the pops asa and DW valve

are there any other upgrades worth looking at

The etha 3 doesn't have nearly as many mod options. You want an etha 1 or 2 if you wanna tinker.

I believe ID is the only current company offering afrermarket bodies.

Shapeways is bankrupt.

I can't help you on the tuning part. I didn't like my 3m, and sold it.

Used market was solid 4 or so months ago when I sold mine. Seems about 250-300 depending on what upgrades it has.

Long story short shapeways went bankrupt and I deleted my store and all the emek after market lol

The etha 3 planet eclipse never released files for and I wasn't going to buy one to reverse engineer the back cap. Mostly because sales plummeted and I couldn't justify the expense.

The biggest part about the 3 back cap that I don't understand is why PE, and the little fan boys think the 2 back cap needs tools.

Don't use a tool to put it in, and you don't need one to take it out. It's already "tooless"

I honestly don't remember what else they changed in the 3 compared to the 2. It's not much. Grab a 2. The mindless zombie hoards that just do whatever PE tells them to value them less only because they are not the most current models

I had a 3m. Now have a 2.

Paying the extra cost for a nifty quick strip that saves me 2 seconds just doesn't make sense.

The 3 does have a bit slimmer profile. But that's not a performance enhancement.

The back cap and the mech comes stock with the FL trigger valve

Wasn't any kind of announcement.

But yeah, a newer emek 2 has that valve.

If you don't mind the PAL feedneck get an Emek. They are everywhere used and typically have all the upgrades already. Now if you want to do all that yourself here's my advice, as a former Emek snob:

The Emach trigger was the first ever aftermarket trigger for the Emek, and still the best in my opinion. Made very well, great size and shape, and the threaded pin is great, don't need to hammer out a pin anymore. POPS ASA is basically a must and I like it more than the Inception EZ.

If you want an aftermarket body, Inception is the way to go. Aluminum or stock glass reinforced nylon, I don't like 3D printed stuff. Stock body is fine, and as mentioned, Emek/Etha 2 bolt cap doesn't need an allen to get on/off it can be done by hand.

I prefer the FL 3 way + Inception Secret pin. DW is fine, just preference.

If you REALLY want to dump money into them, the Whisper Drive is a nice upgrade. Lowers operating pressure, more efficiency (it's already stupidly efficient stock), quieter.

There's nothing to tune other than adjusting reg. Don't over lube anything.

I actually really like the EZ compared to the POPS, but that's just my opinion.

I'm with you on the printed bodies though. I printed a couple for mine, but I just went back to stock before I eventually went all in on a full Inception build. I just didn't like the look or feel of FDM printed plastic compared to stock.

Anyone have any experience with the powerhouse wave spring for the regulator? I was hearing it really pulls the consistency numbers in to like +/-2 but that was only from a single source

If you like double trigger the SSC double trigger kit is really good. Pair that with a DW hair or fl3, remove the trigger spring and you can walk the trigger all day long

When this came out a buddy of mine saw it and didn't want to spend that kind of money so he took his stock gamma core and drilled a bunch of extra holes through the dump chamber area, where there already are holes. He said it does work to get you a lot of the same results, probably not quite as far as the official one but the results are pretty much just talking points over anything on the field. A barrel will make much more of a difference in sound than this mod ever will and unless you are in some specific situation a 5% increase in efficiency isn't going to matter

But all that said, there is a free way to get a lot of the same results, just saying

Basically useless and the spring of a regulator shouldn't ever need to be replaced. I have a hard time believing those claims but maybe. I'm in the camo of "if eclipse designed it that way, leave it alone". It's the same one in all their high end markers as well.

Yeah iv done some digging looking for bodies really the only one that catches my eye is the ripper bodies, I really wanted to build a light blue and orange marker

Exalt makes aftermarket parts for the Emek such as bolt caps, color accents, and triggers.

Exalt makes a lot of stuff in aluminum, fairly cheap all things considered

Not much, they both accomplish the same thing, lighter trigger pull.

The secret pin is a secret that's why you haven't heard about it

The pin shortens the trigger pull. Reportably. I've never been able to compare before and after so idk that first hand

I just got done working on 2 emeks for a client, one had DW hair. The other fl3 way. I wish I had thought to check if it was stock pin or secret but I didn't.

Personally between the two I like the DW hair but honestly you can't go wrong with either

I can with the one I made pretty easily.

I have it set up for somewhere around 10bps. With the DW hair and SSC double trigger I can walk the trigger pretty easy and can actually outpace the full auto. When that happens I've noticed the marker chuffs a bit here and there

The emek and 3m have different valve bodies. The 3m is the same design as the 160/170R, and the emek has the Swiss cheese valve body. In my head the 3m shoots better, but I doubt there is a difference.

It does drop the pressure a bit.
There's that aftermarket valve for the emek.
I got one of those. And yeah, they make a small difference.

Is it worth the 70ish dollars?
Up to the user.

They make one for the etha3m as well. I doubt it does a whole lot.

I will say that a double trigger on an Emek kinda defeats the purpose. At that rate, you're just building an Etha 2 without eyes.

May I suggest if you want a 3m with double trigger. Check out the Gtek in the bst section with the legacy mod. It gives you a double trigger mech that is quite impressive.

The double trigger kit is pretty good, as long as you are fine with hacking off the stock trigger guard it's a really simple install
