A rare Rotor upgrade kit I didn't know existed

Apparently there's not many of these so if they do ever pop up they go for a ton. Had never heard of them before. From "Seed Paintball", also a name I've never heard, and it included a new board that allows the loader to spin backwards if it detects a jam plus two different motors. Obviously these didn't do so well or we would see more but I thought it was interesting

The Seed kit really didn’t improve performance other then higher rates of fire. Lots of guys were able to get better results in that category but using X mod engines that could be purchased out of China for like $6. The Seed kit cost more then what you pay for a rotor now. They did add ball barings to the lower gear cup but it didn’t really make all that much of a difference. 90% snake oil.

Dye had a video of a dm7 actually shooting 40bps with a stock rotor...... Who felt that wasn't enough?

14 years ago paint fit the dye rotor perfectly. Seems like this was solution to a problem that didn’t exist. Also the rotor would jam in the actual feedneck if it were to catastrophically jam which was beyond the drives ability to unjam by merely reversing

Jams were caused by people not changing the batteries out for fresh ones and the lack of low battery indicators on the Rotor.

I used an LTR for a long time with zero problems no matter how bad the paint. Just turned the tension down is all

yeah I think ive had one jam in my LTR so far after adjusting the torque out of the box, put (I think) 2 cases through it. only one I had was when I was lower on paint and randomly near the start of a day (but it was pretty humid and warm), barely took any pressure on the shark fin to clear and then after that it was fine... and that day my mag also decided to get stupid and not even let me shoot a single shot as it would RT 3-4 balls when I let off the trigger and even then the LTR kept up pretty well (still not positive of the cause as I haven't gotten back out but I suspect my tank reg got dirty from a dirty tank from the factory and maybe some weird break in and the rebuild was still pretty new).

I also don't have any issues with OG Rotors of varying ages using modern small ball paint

Freeflow recently released their Rotor "upgrade" guys, which I saw the Seed kit mentioned in discussions about it. And regarding the FF upgrade, several people have already been switched back to the stock parts lol

Only upgrade for the rotor is good lithium ion batteries and the exalt/knock offs exalt speed feeds that sandwich between the lid covers. The LTR addressed the window breakage issue.

There was an issue with this? I still have an og gen 1 rotor that at one point took a 6 foot fall onto concrete breaking 5 or so balls inside and nothing happened to the windows. Well nothing happened to the whole hopper. It was still trying to feed soup

I have smashed a few in my day. On the LTR they omitted them I’m really happy with my LTR.

Most of the windows on my Rotors are chipped/cracking at this point, but paintballs can't fall out, so I'm not worried.

But I am fancy and have the hard plastic Virtue(?) speed feeds on mine.

I still really want to know who felt the claimed 50+BPS and proven 40bps was not enough and needed upgrading.

Like what the hell were they shooting? Might as well be a paint light saber at that point

Let's say you can get it to 60 BPS. That's a pod every 2.5 seconds. Can you even dump the paint in that fast?

huh. didn't know seed rotors were worth something. I have one lol.

I should see if I can get it ripping up at silly high BPS for giggles sometime

Since the rotor can feed 40bps in its stock configuration, I wonder if undervolting it or swapping for a motor with half or 1/3rd of the speed would make it sync better to modern ramping
