    Impulse experts

So I am interested in finding someone to mill up an impulse similar to the attached picture, or maybe trying it myself. Any issues with milling away all of the material as shown or is it all superfluou?

Personally... Exposing that much of the bolt is not great. The bolt will wiggle and damage the breach, bolt, or both.... And nevermind getting sand and gunk in your hammer tube

Good point, I might not go that extreme, but mechanically, and air passage wise I do not know of any issues, do you?

There's all sorts of factors to think about when you machine guns... If you aren't sure, leave it to the experts

Well, I think that may be a bit of the difficulty here. Not sure who would be able to do something like this

I bet that's why they left that piece towards the back of the top tube. It's acting as a guide.

Mill away! I mid blocked my cocker with nothing more than a hack saw small drill press and Dremel. And I'd argue I could have done without the drill press

There's a lot of extra metal on og impulses. That's one of the reasons why there are so many PL versions. Extra metal can be cut away to lighten and look like anything you want

Thanks, I think I may go for it. As far as the drill press how did it handle the lateral pressure when milling?

This is CNC milling. The majority of the cost is in the initial setup and programming for the job (Non-Recurring Engineering, NRE). Running more parts is of little cost while everything is setup for the job. As such, a one-off like this would cost you thousands of dollars. You'd want to do a group buy to help distribute the NRE costs. That said, there are some clever people that have created systems to optimize (reduce) the amount of NRE needed for specific paintball gun bodies. If Nummech is doing custom work, that would be my first call. Another name that comes to mind is Mozak. Or, if you want to do something by hand, that's certainly possible. You should buy a backup body in case you damage something, and prepare to spend far more time on it than you're expecting. Either way, once the cutting is done just the polishing and anodizing of the final product will be expensive, or labor intensive and relatively expensive. All of these processes are done at large scale to reduce the cost...

In short, you probably don't want to do this... buy a PL body, or a new gun that you already like.

Ecapnation Don't you know once you start the computer the design is inputed automaticaly after pressingthe enter button. And that you only have to press one button to program a cnc?

Honestly I've had customers think the above is true.

That's literally everyday for me.....what do you mean you need a day to make a complex surfacing operation to machine stainless steel?! And 30 hours to run 100 parts?! These should be done in a day!!! FU sales

I start subtly raising the time/cost when people give me guff. It does, after all, de-motivate me which in turn slows me down and makes mistakes more likely...

I wasn't milling with it. Drilled holes and then connected them with the Dremel or hack saw

I would prefer more support under the bolt, but they didn't really use orings on the bolt. The left tube in the body isn't connected to anything so you can do cool stuff there. Slim milling the body was common and doesn't really hurt anything.

That looks like something tarantula would have milled. Unfortunately I don't know of anyone ATM that is doing cool stuff with impulse body's.

Python impulse would probably be a lot cheaper and get you fairly close to what you are looking for. Also try a nerve.
