    Packed for Shipping

Saw this method on a guys YouTube. Figured I’d give it a shot sending the nerve out for anno. I kinda like it even if it takes a little more time packing over wrap and stuff.

Any other non standard methods for securely shipping markers?

This is how I've been shipping stuff for years. But I also use packing material on both sides, just for when the box gets what I call "ace ventura'd".

      "Sounds broken."

"Most likely, sir. I'll bet it was something nice, though."

Yeah I did add some bump padding after throwing it in the box.

Definitely need the padding, otherwise the movement can make the zip ties work loose by cutting through the cardboard.

definetly wanna wrap the parts in bubble wrap, dont just ship like that as is

Also if you plan on getting that cp asa anoed, unless the anodizer is going to remove the internal screw on the knob, I would do that yourself If I were you. It'll save the anodizer some time and potentially some money on your end. Plus less things to worry about getting lost

also remove the jewel on barrel tip, basically if there's non aluminum connected like the asa screw and barrel jewel, you wanna remove those bits before sending off to ano

Yeah I could not get the lock tite to break loose. I’ll have to peel the jewels off before I seal it up.

Wrapping in cellophane/shrink wrap prior to zip tying to cardboard works well then add some fill to the box to help prevent crushing.

I wrap a strip of bubble wrap around the tie points to protect the item from the zip ties rubbing.

If you ship something here or there only, seems OK but it feels high-touch to me.

I don't have any special sauce --- pack it well and protect it, save/reuse packing materials if you can --- my PRO TIP would be paper grocery bags I guess.
            - they make great final packing/filler after the REAL padding
            - they're on the more earth-friendly side of options
            - low cost to free
            - for barrels you can just fold one around it, works great.

is the cp asa and reg empty? feedneck is broken loose?

I use bubble wrap, brown paper, and or the foam for moving kitchen dishes. I wrap those with painters tape. If you use this method don't let any thing jiggle.

cant remember who i learned this from but started to copy it for completed markers mostly. add padding as people have stated. otherwise i just use soft foam sheets, paper bags and plastic bags accordingly for bits.

On second thought. Last thing I sent for ano, I wrapped each individual item in brown paper and wrote x of 12 on it. Then filled a box full of the parts and packed with more paper til nothing moved.

Not to harp, but you should at least get the feedneck busted loose so you can clean up the loc tite. I'd also wash everything with dish soap, and warm water and a soft brush. The cleaner you get it before you ship, the less work the anodizer has to do, and the better your end result.

Unless the Anno guy is doing it the regs, feed neck, and asa needs to be taken apart

Also nerves have some tiny and annoying set screws in them that will need to come out

I typically ship that way when I can. except I bubble wrap thr back board and then bubble wrap anywhere the zip-tie touches it.
