    Ego framed mag

Can someone explain these to me? How do they work if not paired with a true e-mag?

I've never had or built a egomag. But my understanding is you used the ego frame and board to run a pneumatic soliniod that runs a ram.that pushes on the sear. Very much like a pnuemag setup.

That sounds right. Interesting. There is one posted on eBay with a tac one body and was curious about the whole idea. Also curious if it warrants the price of about $950! lol

For $950, was it only for the frame or a complete gun?
If it was a complete mag what was the valve on it?

I fixed that one. It was a little rough, but got the ram smoothed out and the frame straight as could be. Shot well.

Like others have posted, it's an electro-pneumag. The Ego frame and board are used to control a small solenoid that fires the usual Clippard actuator everyone uses in a pneumag.

They can get pretty elaborate - Hill over on AO built one with eyes - and they shoot pretty nice, but considering what's on the market these days for electros, building and using one is mostly for bragging rights at this point.

Olsson has one I built (not an Egomag but still an e-pneumag that uses a BKO frame, a Trilogy SF board, and a one-off aluminum Classic valve that Kit made me. It's pretty awesome. 🙂)
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

rawbutter IIRC was making a lot of Mags at one time with one off frames. He might be able to chime in on one made with an Ego frame.

I've made a few pneumags out of Ego frames, but I never kept the electronics inside. It's embarrassing to admit, but electronics have always intimidated me for some reason. I could never get them to work right. So please don't ask me for help. 😅

Besides, Jordan is right. There's not really a good reason to make an Egomag anymore, not when you can get something like an Axe or Etha 2 for much less than it would cost you to build a mag alternative. Not unless you like to tinker and want to build it yourself.

Let me make you something. I build pneumags, auto-response frames, and wooden pill cases.

              Here as example ---
              • ETEK board in a STAR frame or similar
              • SMC solenoid S070C-SDG-32
              • LPR of your choice
              • Pneumag ram to trigger sear, nested in frame - MPA3 or similar

Air to LPR, to solenoid, to ram, ram actuates sear. Hoses can hide in frame and/or in some rails

I have built a few egomags in the past. The difficult part is getting the noid to fit. The smaller noid has a lower pressure threshold and can leak if it is not paired with a good regulator. The other solenoid is pretty solid, but big.

My old thread on it, most of those pictures are long gone. https://www.automags.org/forums/show...ghlight=emaggo

used a small Fetco linear actuator as the ram. I’m building one right now for fun because I found a one of the rams in an old tool box.
