So now that all the stores out there have their Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales up and running, I think it would be fun to bring back something I posted a number of years ago, the Shopping Cart Challenge. Make a list of readily available equipment, from the least expensive sites you can find, the outfit a brand new player given a particular price point. In this case, $200.
A few details about our hypothetical player to help you prioritize gear.
Player currently has zero equipment, will need a mask, gun, possibly air tank, and any possible accessories.
Will be playing at a laid back rec field, mostly woods, and will be limiting themselves to 500 rounds per day. (so a pod pack would be a low priority to this player)
Field rentals suck with very poor maintenance, so any gun they own themselves would be an improvement.
On the other hand field does have 48ci steelie HPA tanks for rental, so air source is less important, but if you can pull off a list with an air source that's even better.
After this round I'll start some others with different price points, and with different player needs. So a $500 Speedball setup, or a $400 mag fed, a pump setup, and so on. Just be aware, the price point will almost certainly be less than an "ideal" setup, this is on purpose to make it a challenge.
