    Good (electronic) woodsball/rec hopper

My backup loader (a vlocity) finally broke, and I really want to replace it with something that's going to be relatively gentle on paint and has a strong lid. I have a rotor, and it's great, but the lid broke ages ago and its speedfeed sometimes allows garbage inside, and the loader occasionally crunches paintballs.
I mostly play woods and hyperball with (mostly) more relaxed players, so rate of fire is a consideration, but is secondary to being strong and not blending paint.

So far, I'm thinking a Virtue IR2, a Revvy, or maybe a pinokio if I can find one. The only thing stopping me from getting a revvy is I remember the lids on the old ones being brittle and breaking on their own. The super-high capacity of the pinokio has me intrigued, but the plastic looks like it could be crunchable.

I picked up the Protoyz (PE brand) Speedster for my oldest. It has great reviews and feeds well enough to keep up with a mech.

I’ve had pretty good luck with Virtue hoppers.

Seems much easier on paint than my old rotor and old HALOs.

There was a bad middle ground for revvys. If you get one that’s really old or really new, they’re almost indestructible. Plus, if your batteries die you now just have a shake and bake hopper.

I am liking my ir2, lid seems to be solid if not a little tight for opening during reloads. Battery life is leaps better than the vlocity.

I like a Rotor and you can get replacement lids for your broken one, I just did that for one of mine. I also have a Vmax Plus by Valken and it is pretty reliable and stout, they sell for ~$50

I always keep a Revy in my bag for a 200 rd loader on a pump it is my go to for big games. On a pump I prefer the 9VDC version from pre-BE.

I've hated using big hoppers ever since I started playing, and the IR2 is so small and light it's crazy. Much lower profile than a revvy and similar in weight.

I say ir2, a little more money than the revy and halo but lightweight, durable, and pretty nice on batteries and less of them. But I also suggest them because they are easy to maintain (come apart very easily to clean, mostly tool-less) and you can get that n-charge battery which allows you to essentially forget about batteries. The LTR is similar in maintence and also can use that n-charge battery but it a little heavier but maybe more durable, also the locking mechanism between the shells is better on the LTR. Both are nice hoppers for their prices but I perfer the ir2 because I've had better luck with it when paint started to get wonky mid-day.

Also the ir2 has a high-cap shell, which holds 260.

Revvy lids are fine. If does breaks steal a lid off a rental VL200 and you're gtg. From what I've heard the Protoyz feeds slow but it certainly looks robust. The Vmax+ is another good option.

HK bought Pinokio and I had a Pinokio Speed back in the day that worked very well for a long time.

Only problem I had is as the sensor that detects paint started to die there wasn't a way to get a replacement part.

Still, I like the balance and low profile and they are pretty cheap these days.

I also like the Spire IR or BK Ctrl if you are really into the small size idea.

+1 for the CTRL! its not super popular with the speedball guys (target demographic) since it has a vibration sensor based activation and modern space guns dont have enough to keep it feeding reliably. as a great side effect, they are perfect mech hoppers especially if youre shooting a cocker! i see them for around $60 all the time!

LTR For Life with the exalt or knock off exalt speed feed that sandwiches between the two lid top half’s. My last speed feed lasted me since the Gen 1 Rotor first came out. Got the LTR when one of the side windows cracked and I couldn’t find one. Eventually found one so now I have two rotors.

Buy some lithium ion AA and change them yearly.
