trying to find out where a leak was coming from. To do so properly the gun had to cocked. I was hold it next to my head barrel pointed up and away from me but still right beside my head listening for the leak. Forgot to put safety on and and grabbed the trigger when I nearly dropped the marker by accident. Dry fired right beside my head. Felt like I was under water for a week I'm pretty sure I bruised my ear drum,

That's about all I can think of. Other than that it was stuff just breaking oddly. Worst was at a pump tournament a couple years ago, get my trilly sniper chrono and set it on a table. Next thing I know it's pissing air and leaking out the barrel I'm pretty sure it blew it's cup seal. Have a rebuild kit but I've been lazy so it's been sitting for 2 years. That said I haven't played since that game, wanted to get out this year but Covid kind of screwed that up.

Among my most messed up decisions was to long term store equipment in trash bag(s). Never store paintball stuff in a trash bag. Particularly, don't store paintball stuff in a trash bag for so long that you forget it's paintball stuff. Don't store your forgotten about paintball stuff in a trash bag in an area deemed a catch all. Most importantly, should you be throwing out a trash bag that you aren't sure what is in it because it was put in place long ago cost yourself a bag and take a look.

I needed it to shoot one more paintball... ahhhh

I usually put new batteries in my stuff before an event just to be safe. But was running late for the first point. So I was like ahh I will be good.... yeah not so much

Lost the 1v1 and took second because I couldn’t get a ball out the breach. So close yet so far. We laughed about it afterwards. Top 4 teams all were guys from my team that we drew from a hat the night before. I was pretty ruthless talking crap after winning last years Thanksgiving 3 man. So now I’m really getting my balls busted.
Yup, made a pump ego7 by having the batteries in my rotor die at a big game! Shoot, pull anti-jam tab, shoot, pull, repeat.

They last so long I usually only change them when I have an event.

A couple years ago I accidently put my old Gmek on 'safe' while executing a last ditch bonzai charge during a speedball game. Went to bunker one of my opponents before they took me out and ran up on him trying to shoot, but only hearing 'click'. He then lit me up from 10ft away, and I left the field bleeding down my left forearm and hand from a string of hits. I almost felt like leaving after that game, but played on. I went home that day and finally ordered some forearm pads! That day put a bad taste in my mouth for that Gmek and I sold it not long after.

Understandable your feelings towards the gmek. Most impressions are based of the first time meeting. So if yours aren't good, then to anyone you talk too, you'll tell them its shit. .

Oh, I got a good one.

Pro tip: when playing in winter, watch out for ice.

      I got it on video:

Ouch... last month we got a ton of rain. I was playing rec and slipped in the mud. I was laughing so hard because I didn’t get shot out in the open and made it back to the bunker only to fall on my next move again in the same point. Got covered in mud but thankfully didn’t get hurt and stayed alive both times.

I got two cause Chuck E Ducky reminded me of another.

      1) 3-man pump tournament, final match. I go dorito-side and battle it out with my mirror. First teammate trades out and the second gets longballed. My mirror comes down the tape to bunker me and we do a ring-around the rosie around the dorito. Hit him in the goggles, and I feel him hit me in my side. Now it's super cold out and balls have been bouncing all day, so I go to check to make sure I'm hit instead of just continuing to play and letting the ref pull me. My hand comes back clean but it's cold, I'm wearing gloves, and it's in that funny spot where you can't really see a hit. I'm screaming at the ref for a check as their last player runs past me with the flag. Ref just stares and gives me no indication if I'm hit, he hangs the flag and we lose. Of course, the ball didn't break. If I'd just turned and shot him we would've won, and since I was the last guy, no real downside if I had been hit. Oh well.

      2) First real tournament ever, 3-man event. We'd been doing great all day, we were even the only team to beat the D2 team that was sandbagging the beginners tournament. I'd consistently been shooting one player off the break every single game. The game before the semi-finals my Halo had died, so I'd grabbed the spare eggy in the bag that I'd never used. Literally entirely held together by packing tape haha. We get ready and as they call ten seconds, I realize I wasn't sure if I'd turned my hopper on. I should've just shot my gun and seen if the eggy spun, but instead I frantically asked my teammate "Which way is on on this thing?!", to which they responded they have no clue, so I flicked the power switch the opposite direction. Horn blows, gun up, anddddd nothing. I HAD turned it on already. Missed my lane, teammate and I got shot out. Amazingly, my teammate got the flag off the break, and when he saw it was a 3v1 made the cleanest jump over the carwash I've ever seen, and hung the flag clean. Unfortunately he left his gun behind and the ref DQ'd him.

Literally just woke up off the floor. Woke up and my pants/underwear were soaked after a night of drinking. First time that has happened to me. Figured this belongs here.

I've got some bad ones, but the worst one was unexpected. Took my Spyder EM1 out to the field for the first time. Rebuilt and it felt good, and was shooting nicely at home. Chronoed perfectly.
Get out on the field and put a bunch of paint down field. The sound is glorious.

My hopper suddenly wobbles... then falls off. The neck of the hopper split. Completely dumbfounded. First 10 minutes of the game.

I member. what was the slowest time you almost broke your neck?

Anyways I had a recent fail relevant to this thread, I was using a flathead screwdriver to help press some ancient JT goggle tabs back into the frame, after installing a brand new lens. Anyways, I'd gotten 3 out of 4 tabs back in using this method when the screwdriver slips and puts a nice scratch from the bottom to the top of the inner thermal lens, and even warps it a bit. Basically ruined it right off the bat, $30 wasted.

I wish I could find $30 JT lenses. I did destroy a brand new mirror lens first time out on my I5 had it on my head. Cable holding the nets smoked it when I walked into it not realizing my mask was on top of my head. Right across the line of sight so sad...

Driving 3 hours to my first big scenario game in years, getting set up in time for the big start, and getting into in a key bunker only to realize too late that I hadn't changed my loader batteries in a couple years stood out for me.
