The first gun I had that ever performed well was a Piranha Evo. It was a lucky eBay find for $35, and it came with the all-delrin Boss Bolt and the CP clamping feedneck. I Boss’d it up the rest of the way with the Boss Blade trigger (second edition w two points of adjustment) and replaced the stock reg with an Empire reg. The stock electronics were ok, but the only firing mode was semi. ScenarioDreams had a Piranha-specific T-board back in the day and I bought one when they were on sale. 8 firing modes and upgraded eyes. I put my OG Prophecy on it and found a cheap Empire Revolver kit. The thing shoots lasers. I haven’t brought her out in years - maybe it’s time.
For blowbacks, I’ve mostly used Tippmanns. I have a stack of 98s that I use for loaners because they just need oil, detents, and the occasional hammer oring or spring. I do have a few Spyders to loan out for those who want something smaller. And a green Raptor with the original unported barrel. Upgraded to a Taso terminator barrel for it - it’s a nice shooter now, and much quieter 😄. One thing I don’t like about the Raptor is how close the side cocking rod is to the frame. My thumb has been smacked by it a few times. But it definitely has a classic feel to it when shooting!
