Hey folks,
I've been toying with some ideas in my head about taking the contest into the next month. A few ideas will require the help of others. Let me mind vomit a little in the thread.
Format:
Each month will be a different company or marker type.
I will release the list before the end of the year, giving people time to complete those builds and get them in the competition.
The part of the contest that will require help and that I'm still working out the logistics for are the prizes.
Prizes:
I'd like a physical prize for each month's winner. I am thinking a barrel bag with some sort of design that includes: Marker of the Month, MCB the month/year and maybe the category in which it won. Or maybe a 3d printed medallion of some sort. These would be fun to use for pictures, or to show off in person, and, hopefully, could add some value if you ever sold the marker. In addition, I'd like to have a [forum] banner made for member's to put in their signature if they were a previous MOTM winner - if they so choose.
So, what would I need to complete this? Well... Everything, basically.
- I would need someone to design all of the above mentioned things.
- I would need some funding. I'm not looking to profit any from this, but having barrel bags made and shipping isn't free.
I'm not looking for any one person to step up and give me all of their time, however, if we could come together as a community, perhaps I could find people that can design different parts. Perhaps, I could set up a small donation thing with a pre-determined number to cover the costs for the year. (We're talking a couple bucks each, I imagine.)
While I do enjoy setting up the contest each month, it is more work than you'd think and I feel some of these ideas would add more legitimacy to it and maybe even transcend into other platforms when people see the aforementioned prizes, while still keeping it lighthearted and fun.
I have ideas for pretty much all of the bullet points above. I just need some volunteers.
I am going to use this thread as a continued place for the evolution of the contest until all the details are ironed out.
Thanks,
Riot
