    World Cup Product Release Rumors

This time from a more...reputable source: Let's Talk Paintball:

Gear talk starts around the 14:30 mark. Sounds like we're likely to get:
    • Planet Eclipse CS3
    • New HK hopper (also seen on a new promotional vid recently)
    • New JT hopper
    • Dynasty "Waffle" Field1 Force
    • Another hopper (push? Carbon?)
    • Dye M4 or equivalent

It's kind of sad that the state of the current market means I'm most excited to see a JT hopper out of that list you have there

      Same.

Honestly I'm more excited about the N3 release (hopefully next week?) than anything on that list, though it sounds like the new HK hopper is going to be more similar to the pinokio speed than the TFX.

Agreed. Although, he said the JT hopper will be like a Vlocity with some Halo thrown in. Not the hopper of my dreams...

True, but that to me sounds like the next Prophecy iteration. The Proph was "next" after Kore/GI bought out VL and Halo and the short lived Magna.

N-3 i think they are pushing back to first week of november. I think Chris is trying to get caught up on orders and make sure all is well before bumping it up another notch.

I am curious to see the new hopper also. I bet PE releases a new marker as well, some have leaked some images of another pool marker people are guessing is either the cs3 or the 180R.

Totally fair. I know at one point Chris said "end of the month" but I totally understand why they'd push it.

"new" is a pretty strong word for what PE does though.

I love how back in, what was it 2013? PE says "we won't be releasing a ego13 because there's not enough changes" the players praised them for breaking the yearly release trend while dye continued with the dm13, 14, 15, and now, dye has stopped the DM series while PE puts a + .1, or +1 at the end of the name and releases the same marker but tbe players gobble it up

I do like how PE guns are made and all that but at this point it seems like any change will be cosmetic/ergonomics. Sure the LV2 was a big redesign, but seems like there isn't a whole let else to be done unless they do a 180 on a current design

What bugs me the most is the lack of choice at the top end. It's either PE, Dye, or Luxe/Shocker at the top, and all 3 suffer from various degrees of cult-like fans. Yes, there's Field1, yes there's MacDev, but those aren't nearly as popular in my experience.

It's why I'm glad to see the Nova come back, I'm happy to see new cockers being made, and hopefully the "mech revolution" brings back some variety.

PE has a solid fan base (of which I'm part of) for a good reason: they make good products that work well. They stand behind what they make and offer excellent customer service. Now, that doesn't mean PE's the only good paintball company out there - I'm also a big fan of Inception Designs, DYE, Exalt, HK, and Extreme Velocity to name a few.

I know that some people rail against periodic releases of high end guns but they're not forcing anyone to make the switch. You wanted to pay big bucks for a super high end in order to gain marginal advantages but now its value plummeted because 'version 1.1' is out? Tough luck. Your LV 1.6 is still shooting fine even though the LV2 is out.

WHY do we need so many damn hoppers on the market? Just because you exist as a company DOES NOT MEAN that you need to produce a loader!

Otherwise, I'm curious to see what the waffle Field One looks like, but I definitely won't be buying one. It just hits me in the nostalgia.

I dunno. I've become an old grump. I'm very excited about the Nova release. I will definitely be picking one of those up. But otherwise, I'm content with what I have, and the new things just don't do it for me anymore.

Honestly, I think it's the sponsorship deals that are driving the "we have to have a hopper" mentality. They want to offer a more complete package, whether it's PUSH so they have more than just a mask, or CRBN so they can offer a more complete sponsorship package than just mask + softgoods, or KORE/GI/JT cashing in on the resurgence of JT nostalgia and Dynasty running JT goods (other than a hopper).

This new Dye gun could be very exciting. It has roots in the Lurker Paragon (they bought the patent from Lurker). I'm hopeful there is a mech option for this drivetrain as well.

Old thread on the Paragon: https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=4078899

Looks interesting. Am I wrong in thinking that that looks a ton like the PE 170r? Internally it's pretty wild though, shame I missed it. Mech option sounds promising, since, at least according to that old thread, solenoid dwell doesn't matter.

It was hands down the coolest gun I've ever handled. The thing was unbelievably tiny even compared to current guns. The RSX/AMP is the closest thing to it and it's still bigger than the paragon was.

DYE releasing an M4 would actually make a lot of sense, come to think of it. It has seemed a little odd that they've continued to push the M3 as their flagship marker when the cheaper DSR+ is arguably just as good or better.

The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.

I hate seeing manufacturers treat markers like an iPhone, with so many releases that just cannibalize what we buy before the new car smell is even fading. If anything it just added to the lack of innovation for years on a product that in many areas has already peaked. What is happening in the world of mechs and mag-fed is so much more interesting to me than high-end electro's and it's full of innovation by those same companies that have simply churned out version 1.0 version 1.02.

I am still interested in seeing anything the names mentioned release, spending time to develop a product like Angel Eyes can make or break a company in a fragile state.
The reason for a million zombie movies is it's a safe bet. When a Concept Designer applies to work at that type of production studio if their work is bleeding edge and innovative they will hire the guy who just draws zombies well instead.

I remember the Paragon and all the talk that happened around it. Seems like ages ago.

I'd like to see more high ends that are able to be converted, quickly and easily, between electro and mechanical like the TM40 and now the DSR+. It's exciting that mech paintball is making a comeback with the ICPL. Mech seems to be driving a lot of the innovation in markers recently.

I use to follow the manufactures releases. But it’s hard to get excited about new stuff coming out. Until we can get a better solution to the current state of paintballs I don’t see much improvement coming for what is already available. Most just buy the new gear because it’s new. It’s Rare something comes out that’s truly better. Manufacturers just pick and choose lil advertisement features to boast about. All the high ends shoot the same to me. It’s hard to get excited about the same thing polished for sale a different way. I think paintball tech hit a wall years ago and that wall is the paintball itself.

I would kill for a truly perfect constant round ball. People automatically say well First Strikes and ok yeah they shoot nice. But are not backwards compatible. I’m talking a large bore true flight paintball that could be manufactured in large quantities cheep. Until then it’s hard to get excited about how many mouse click trigger pulls you can get out of a 9V or the next luxe with Siri and Apple car play.

Damn right. The guns, loaders and tanks haver become ultra refined, reliable and much cheaper. I would have sold my soul back when I started in the early 90's for what we can get nowadays. Yet, the paintballs have become much worse. Sometimes I wonder, what's the point then? Say someone comes out with the most consistent gun ever, a true marvel of engineering; it'll shoot just as the next gun with the paint most of us can get our hands on.

The lack of quality paint has me seriously contemplating selling everything and taking up a different hobby... especially when trying to embrace a limited paint setup in an attempt to get away from the "dump-a-case" mentality recball seems to be turning into.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Honestly I just play my game. I don’t care how others play. As long as there respectful and don’t over shoot get out when shot I will battle it out with yah. My favorite days are hunting the guys that shoot a lot of paint in rec. like today I had a blast shooting my stick fed CCM. Pulled off a 3v1 for the win against 3 seasoned regulars shooting electro. Best part is everyone was watching it on the net side. But good consistent paint would really make the game that much better. The new batch of graffiti my pro shop got in shot really well and the fall temps made it break really well. Fingers crossed they got the QC issues figured out.

I've been guilty of it in the past and I wanted to try limited paint to "refresh" a bit - paintball is getting boring and stagnant for me, and I thought going to SC or limited paint might open up a facet of the sport I haven't explored much.

The absolute garbage I've had to use is not helping the effort.

Jordan it's certainly been rough around here. The only good paint I've seen is the Art Life stuff at Ultimate.

Wasaga's rec paint wasn't awful this weekend, but I agree. It's hard to be an ambassador for limited play styles when every other shot spirals off into the woods.

I'm not sure what it is, but something about that guy in those videos irritates me.

Anywho, I don't mind more hoppers. That VL Triad looks like it's feedneck is more toward the center, as opposed to the Rotor or Magna. This is a welcome sight for me, as I think most modern loaders are horrendously backheavy.

My thoughts on the new Dye & PE markers are two-fold:

-I'm being brought back to the early/mid 2000s with annual releases with minimal advancements. This is irritating & kills the resale value of everything prior. Buuuut...

-I think people are forgetting how innovation sometimes works. Sometimes it has to be incremental. Ideas implemented poorly & all at once can sink a ship. Think of all the things we see in today's markers. How long did it take to get there? Look at the original Gtek: macroline w/foregrip reg. Gtek 160R: still had a foregrip reg but had the AT pipe. Gtek 170R: internal reg with no hoses.

And now we have the almighty Emek that everyone raves about. How long did it take to get THAT? These things took a while to develop. Sometimes you have to let the process work.

I think this is different than what Dye did in the mid 2000s (shave a 1/2 ounce here, 1/2 ounce there... meh). I'm no PE fanboy, but what PE is doing is actually kind of meaningful on the tech end of things. They didn't get to where they are overnight, and now they now crank out some of the best paintguns out there. Let the process work. I get that minimal advancements are irritating, but y'all are impatient. Have some perspective.

EDIT: I misspoke on the 160R. Still had a foregrip reg but had the AT pipe. Point still stands though. Edited for correctness.
