Nova Cocker-based Pump Teaser

Their video on the cocker mentioned aluminum hammer which would be odd. Who knows if the pump will end up having the option for single trigger but highly doubt it. Could there be slop in the pump handle since no secondary guide rod? Likely. The ano in the above example looks very thin and blotchy.

It's just a center feed slab side.... Why?
If I'm buying a private label sniper, why would I want it to look like.... Well, that?

Just to me it seems like you can go get a 2k4 cocker which is already center feed and at that same price I would expect some decent parts.
Or, I could get a right feed slab slide and have some really nice parts.... And a single trigger for around the same price
I just don't see a huge market for these. Even here, which let's be honest is pretty much the mecha for pumps and old school stuff nobody in this thread seems all that excited about it. Maybe marketing towards players just getting into pump?

It's great that they're trying something, like that LPR/3way combo, but currently this sniper is a dud.Originally posted by Terry A. DavisGod said 640x480 16 color was a covenant like circumcision.

I think people are looking a this a little backward, and likely due to how the teasers were released. Nova likely started with the full cocker and then spun the pump off that cocker. That's why there's a hinge frame on it. Don't like the hinge? Throw a Mozak or a CCM or a Gunfighter on it. Expecting a CCM pump at a budget cost isn't really fair. Nova should have started with the Cocker, and then added the pump kit as an option, and then people wouldn't have lost their mind on the hinge frame.
And the comparison to Meteor is fine, but Meteor is a limited release and not widely available. You can't run a stock pump kit on it without buying an expensive adaptor and didn't come tuned or with an HPR. So Meteor had to cut down on the options to hit the price point they did (and I think the price point was done as a doorcrasher to build the brand) . Nova is the same, but chose different ways to cut the costs. And this is likely due to the fact that they developed a cocker first.
Paintball has largely become stagnant and derivative. A small company comes out with something new and exciting things (balance valve, 3-way replacement, their entire marker lineup) but then gets roasted before people even try the product. Makes it so other innovators look at the response and have to ask themselves if it's worth it.
Really, I'm quite surprised at people's reactions to all this. Let's put the pitchforks down for a bit and see what Nova actually releases at what price point. Without that information we're all just pissing in the wind.

I guess my big question at this point is, Why should I buy this over an empire sniper?

Will be way better quality than an Empire as well, those aren't great

iamthelazerviking. Agreed my Sniper’s reg seal went and took out the valve. Single biggest failure I have had in a paintball marker. Had to get a new valve and a replacement HPR.Last edited by Cdn_Cuda; 08-23-2024, 11:15 PM.
