Another thing I noticed on mine was the lack of finish work inside the slide where the barrel goes. The holes on the top of the site rail and the threaded holes holding the bottom pump portion of the slide together all have small burrs protruding into the slide ID. So if someone gets their slide and tries to fit a larger diameter barrel inside, be careful, it'll scratch the hell out of your barrel without sanding those burrs off first.

I'm fine with mill marks on parts, but burrs on a marketed drop in ready part isn't cool.

My confidence in them fixing the issues is low, I'm gonna try doing fixing the feed tube fitment issues myself on my mill and gonna try making a slip fit delrin sleeve for the slide to not be a chattery nightmare

The only plus side is the nova guys are receptive to the problems and I did reach out about my off center brass insert and they said they'd be sending me a replacement asap.

If I'm not mistaken the V2 will pretty much be the same thing as the V1, but with a wider cut out to accept cci feed tubes, supposedly no plans to make the ID hole smaller to eliminate the need of getting a custom spacer to take out the excessive pump slop on the kit.

diy is always the best option with projects like this.
and yea, no plans to fix the overbore.
      "it would be too expensive"

When you do, make sure you put something between the back the back of the slide to spread them apart. It gets sketchy if you don't. just a heads up.

chatter wasnt bad at all when i slotted 4 kits a couple years ago. but you could stick a dowel in there while you cut.

lol what a joke - good way to hide incompetence. I thought these guys would learn a lesson after the nova valve. Appears they do not care much about quality, as their track record shows. I dove my NX1 off the lot and lost $100 in value instantly

I wonder if the loose tolerances are more of a side effect of the 3D scanning than a deliberate design decision.

it had to do with their tooling.

Mine showed up. There are some very rough cuts, large burrs and surface defects. I may have to find an airsmith to clean it up before anodizing. Wasn’t expecting master craftsmanship but this is still not something I am happy with.

I feel like it can be saved but it’s not a drop in peace that’s for sure. It needs more work to be right. It’s definitely ruff from an anodizing standpoint. I plan on cutting one up anyway to make it my own. Can you measure the ID of the barrel opening? I wonder if a Doc Bull Cocker barrel will fill the hole if you make room for a round head body.

I can go one better. I own one of those bull barrels. The tip fits in beautifully, but it needs a polish for sure. Feels a little gritty coming out.

Smaller is easy tho especially since can spin it in a lathe.

I wonder if you can just machine out the back side to fit round heads and make a Delrin sleeve that’s captured behind the slide itself. You could make different sizes for different barrels. Spin them up on a Lathe easily. If it rode on Delrin it would be much smoother and you could match the barrel to your build.

I’m thinking Docs barrels will work if the bore of the slide is honed out a lil. But the issue is they are cocker threaded.
So you would need to clearance the slide so you could fit the round head ASP body into the slide. It currently won’t fit because round heads don’t taper at the threads due to the OD of cocker threaded barrels. Should be a simple fix. Docs makes his barrels in both xL and standard freak. I’m sure we could have the tips made to any length we want if we ask. His longer ones he sells now could be cut down super easy. They are unported too so you might get a lil more efficiency out of them for 12g play. Should Give you a cool sound sig out of it and look good with a fat barrel poking through. It would take the slop out of the slide to since it rides on the barrel.

^ that sounds like it would be a perfect setup. I have a round body sitting around. I may have to pick up a v2 and send it off to someone to get the fit and finish up to snuff.

barrel-body not the same bore. close but the barrel is tighter slightly

I wonder if Nova would be willing to give us the option to have them bored out completely for a roundhead/bull barrel setup

True, good point. I mean I need a roundhead too, so it’s not like this is happening any time soon

Maybe I'm just being cynical, but this screams cash grab to capitalize on our mistake.

Yeah you’re probably right. At that point just get a an actual Duck Slide. Although, those would still need to be machined and anodized as well.

        Nice!

Anyone heard any news or timelines on the V2? Called nova a couple weeks ago and they said they were machining them at that time and to check on Facebook. Haven’t seen anything on the public page and don’t have an account to dive in further. Will call again next week to check in but figured some others here are also looking to swap for a v2.

They had a chance to redeem themselves, but it seam they are shooting themselves in the foot ...
Are they expecting their customer to pay for return shipping for an item that doesn't work as intended?

They didn’t say anything about covering return shipping when I called so yea as far as I know it’s on us.

They are releasing a version 2 of these.

Good that will save us the trouble of figuring it out ourselves. That 3D printed option seems to work well. The picture Cuda just posted looks like it has some kind of an insert.

Delrin would have good wear properties if the tolerance is good.
