Late BF-4-MCB! Blazer Freaks, and long-short Freak tips!

No, I haven't been drinking! (Well, that much, anyway.... )

I threw together one last anno batch for the year, tossing together some random stuff laying about the shop. I have a ton in the works to be annoed, but I needed some of this stuff back before the end of the year- so to pad it out, I added in some extras!

Therefore I've got three (technically six) goodies, exclusively for you Lords and Ladies of MCB! Supplies are very limited, first come, first served!

To start with, we have a short run of Blazer Freak backs!

I have three for the first-gen, and six for the second-gen.

[Edit:] Apparently the Blazer bolt won't let you use an insert smaller than .687". The bolt can be modified slightly, but if you're not willing to do that (understandably, as replacements may not be available) and need to shoot small paint, these may not work for you. If you know and understand this, and think they can still work for you, they're $40 plus shipping.

The next two are... well, Long Flashpoints!

Yeah, I know, the idea of a Flashpoint is to make a super-short, compact barrel, but hey, these are super-cool too. On a normal "five inch" Freak back, it makes the whole thing a touch over 9" long.

(Back, of course, not included... unless you want to buy that, too. My various flavors of back are $55 each- buy one with a long tip and I'll make it $50!)

Why? Well, I had some "Bull" barrel tips- the longer ones to make a 12" barrel- with some minor cosmetic issues. So I turned 'em down to the OD of a Flashpoint, and cut the same "muzzle brake" venting in them.

If you lads and ladies want more, I can make more, but right now, I only have six of each on hand. And... I'll let'cha have 'em for the same price as a regular Flashpoint- $32, again plus shipping. (A Ground Advantage package will be $4.50, specify which style- the top one is the M4, the bottom the Phase.))

Lastly, I have two one-off Flashpoints. I was playing around with other cutters for the slots, and wound up with these:

There's only the one of each style, so again, first come, first served. Specify the left one or the right one if you're interested, and I'll let ya have those for $30, shipped! (Assuming you're in the US. ) [Edit: Both one-offs sold!]

AND... since I am so awesome, buy two of any of these, and get Free Shipping! (Again, assuming you're in the US. For Canadians and others, I'll be happy to ship, just request a quote.)

And if you hurry, I should still be able to get it to you for Christmas!

Thanks for looking, and Merry Christmas!

    Doc.

The 'step' where it slides into the gun is slightly longer on the second-gem, usually called "post 2K", I think.

Do the Blazer Freak backs move the inserts a bit forward to account for the bolt entering the barrel?
              I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

DocsMachine I have a stainless freak back for my 2k Blazer (turned down Angel back), but it's basically useless with today's small paint, as anything below a .687 (or it might be .687 and smaller) the bolt either gets stuck in, or can't even enter.

If you want to make backs that move insert forward, like you did with the SL68 as I recall, I've got both a 1k and a 2k Blazer, as well as a Pyre (basically a 2k), that I can loan you.

What's the factory barrel bore at the breech?

DocsMachine I grabbed the Pyre, as it's the easiest to find (I know where the 2k is, but I'm not 100% sure where the 1k is). It has a Palmer's brass barrel. The barrel actually has a recess for the bolt to enter. The recess is 0.265" long, and bored 0.687". After that the bore drops down to 0.685", and the wedgets are about another 0.250" deeper.

The bolt tip is 0.684" diameter, and 0.050" long. Next comes one of Palmer"s black plastic split ring seals, the gland it sits in is 0.095" long. After that the bolt diameter steps up to 0.685". The bolt, when done by hand outside of the marker, can actually enter the barrel 0.290" before it stops.

However, while measuring from the front of the breach, with the bolt as forward as it can go, the bolt only actually enters the barrel 0.190".

-Now that you mention it, I seem to recall we (MCB in general) talking about that a while back. I'd made these backs... er, back then, I think, turning them down out of test parts after using some of the blanks to set up the CNC. I think I set them aside specifically due to that conversation, as there's no easy way to add that exytension/step to thee blanks.

Worse, making a Blazer back the "right" way would end up costing more than a regular back.

When I was looking around for parts to add this this last anno batch, I found those, didn't remember the issue, and threw them in.

So, gentlemen, I'm officially removing those backs for sale. Of the three that have been sold, to two different buyers, if you gents determine you can't use them, or don't want to mod a bolt so they can be used, I will buy them back.

Would there be any interest in doing a preorder for a small batch of backs done the "right" way? I'll have to use different material and do more machining, so the final cost will be higher, but if I could get a fair number of preorders- in this case I'd probably have to ask for a prepayment as well- I'd be happy to try a run.

I want to say my 1k blazer and pyre have modified bolts? I should be ok? Unsure, as they are buried in storage containers. I need to locate them to confirm.
