Barrels, that is. (Thought you lot might like a good clickbaity title... )

Just finishing up another run of various Freak Backs, and before I send the batch off for anno, I figured I'd see if anyone wants one raw, so you can have it match-annoed to your gun.



-From left to right, there's Blazer (I have both pre and post 2K) then Ion, Shocker, ICD, VM-68 and of course 'Cocker.

They're raw out of the machine at the moment, asking $48 plus shipping. I can bright-polish if you'd like, for another $20.

I should have the full lot done by Friday, and it's all heading out for anno as soon as possible after that- so if you're interested, don't dawdle.

Pretty sure you could use a Deadlywind adapter for a Blazer with a few modifications... I'm using one on one of my brass builds.

I just saw they have an SL68 back too. Unfortunately I don't think the front would fit the pump handle very well. DW isn't really my style of barrel anyway.

What about an SL68 freak back?

-The one solution to that, that I know of, is I heard somebody made an adapter for Phantom barrels, to screw into the breech of an SL. I had a customer ask me for that, but my schedules were already too full.

The SL isn't easy to Freak. You can't just bore a barrel, because there's nothing holding the insert in. The bolt can drag it backwards, keeping you from loading another ball. If you have a front-loaded back, the "knuckle" where the back screws into the tip, is far too large to fit the pump grip. Even an XL, with the longer insert hits.

You either need to swap out the pump with one that can fit the barrel, convert it to some version of undercocker, or to make a custom barrel that screws together, but with a smaller threaded section to fit through the pump. Or modify the body to accept 'Cocker barrels, or similar, and swap out a pump that will fit.

At some point I was going to try the Phantom thing myself, but I've had a lot on my plates. (These particular backs should have been off to anno months ago.)

-Generally speaking, I usually try to let you lot have first crack at any new parts. Sometimes I'll have demand build up and most will get sold before I can post here, it all depends.

In this case, I only have a few standing orders, and I'm sending out a pretty fair batch, so there should be plenty to go around.

-Yes. Shoebox and the first few generations of the '03-up spoolers.

-Only by special order. Gloss requires hand polishing first, and a separate gloss-anno run. I'll be happy to do a batch, but I'd need quite a few gloss orders, and I'd have to tack on polishing costs.

My usual anno is satin black, about the same as a standard Phantom. That tends to go best with the most markers. I simply can't afford to do a run of gloss, dust and colors.

Do these use two orings to hold the insert like the sp freak backs?

Just one O-ring, at the front. The bores on these are closer tolerance to the insert than the factory ones.
