    Offbeat Freak Backs!

For those of you looking for a Freak back in the 'classic' 5" style, for some of the less-common markers, I have you covered!

    Description and number on hand:

    A- WDP Angel A1, A1 Fly, AR:K and SB (15)
    B- G7 Fly, GAT and 06 Speed (15)
    C- Autococker (7)
    D- VM-68/PMI-3 (8)
    E- Ion (9)
    F- Angel LED, LCD, IR3, 03/04 Speed, A4, A4 Fly, 05 Speed and G7 (25)
    G- Shocker (incl. Shoebox and '03) (3)
H- ICD, incl. Thundercat, Alley Cat, Bobcat and B2K (3)
    I- BE Raptor and F1 Illustrator (5)
    J- 2K-up Blazer (4)

Unfortunately, thanks to inflation and big jumps in the cost of materials, utilities and anodizing, I've had to raise the prices on these a little. For the next week, for you MCB'ers, they'll be $52 plus shipping. Anything that's left after that will be going up on eBay for $54.95

I can ship these anywhere in the US for $8.50, and those of you in Canada or elsewhere outside the US, drop me an email and I can get you a quote.

My email for these is sales (at) docsmachine (dot) com

And, as they used to say, quantities are in some cases very limited. First come, first served. (I will be making more, and hopefully not too long from now, but no ETAs.)

    Thank you!

    Doc.

I think I have everyone replied to and any orders placed (as of a few minutes ago) are filled and on their way to the PO.

If you haven't had a reply yet, you might poke me again, or double-check that you properly decoded my email address correctly. (Sorry about that- I get enough spam as it is.)

            Thanks!

Hey Doc, not sure if it can be done in some way but if anyone can do it it's you ... How about making a Freak back for a Trracer? Sure it's not easy but I bet there's a way to do it.....they said a Blazer wasn't possible to make one for yet you have one. I'm sure you'd sell a bunch of them if you can do it.

That would be awesome since I don't really want to support ssc.

I really woulda liked a trracer back but Ive heard they are just too thin to make it work.

No one said the Blazer "couldn't" be done, just that it wasn't- and still isn't- really the best idea. The outer diameter of a stock Blazer barrel is .795". The OD of a Freak insert is about .745", with the bore of the back about .750"

That, of course, leaves just .045" or so for a wall thickness- or about .023" per side. That's not much thicker than the insert itself.

Over the years, players have used them, made by myself and a good many others, and have accepted the fragility. Personally, I've only heard of one of mine being damaged- a POG regular forgot to disconnect his remote and dragged the gun off the table in the safety zone.

The Trracer, however, is a different story. The factory threads are very near the OD of the insert- in this case, within a bare few thousandths, no a comparatively luxurious 20+ thou.

Sorry, the Trracer just doesn't give us the room we need.

'Cocker barrels won't fit through a Trracer pump, and there's not enough room between the body and the pump for an adapter.

Would a larger diameter pump handle hole solve that?

Man, I want one of those ICD backs but the missus (A.K.A "The Keeper of the Funds") has informed me that thanks to how we've adopted a cat (and paid the vet bills) more fun-money spending is right out for at least a week. Still, I will be keeping an eye out in case more of those appear.

-Sure, and so would some sort of undercocking kit. But now instead of a $50 barrel back, you're looking at $150 to $200 in upgrades. You might as well ditch the Trracer and get a Phantom.

Yep, they're in the works now.

Both "Bull" barrels (mainly for the Bushy pumps) and "Classic" length backs (mainly for the Montneels, but they are, of course, swappable.)

The only holdup is I ran out of the Freak tip parts I had an outside shop make for me (the last stuff I was able to get out of them, actually) so after I make a stack o' backs, I'll have to run a pile o' tips, too.
