The taxes thing goes in to effect next year and honestly wouldn't be surprised to see it kicked to the following election year or just die altogether. That is a Beautiful BL byw!

The taxes thing already went into effect in multiple states, including mine --- $1000 cap effective a few years ago.

I don't for a second believe F&F / gifting is a reliable safe haven. "Officially" yes, but it's a no-brainer for IRS to collect that data through online payers and build it into algorithms.

Bottom line, I see too much risk to 1) play the gifting game over time or 2) make up cost basis on merchandise. I'm trying to go semi-legit here. That means for stuff I have no receipts on, either cash, or, I take a big tax hit.


Expect to see cash/MO come back around once the community fully ingests the new rules... probably 1-2 more years out for most.
