Just curious how that whole quad detent system performed

The first pair of detents prevents the hopper from loading more than one ball and the second pair holds the ball in the breach. Instead of the closed bolt setup holding a ball in the barrel, this Nova holds it in the breach. So you could essentially use a paper towel tube as a barrel and you still wouldn’t have any rollouts.
