Was watching the Heroes for a Day: the XSV Story documentary a couple of weeks ago and I began to wonder: Did those lids ever stay closed? It seems like all the bits of actual gameplay footage showed those guys flinging paint everywhere on every single dive and slide with those lids wide open.

The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.

They used to take off the lid springs as a trick to a make the lids open and close faster.

Also, if anyone needs the plastic rivets to install these lids, they are still available on ANSGear.com.

That makes a bit more sense. I was away from the sport from 2000 to 2020, so I went from a VL2000 to a Rotor. I've seen an old eggy in person only once, I think.

If you actually take care of the Eggy, and put the spring in properly, they should stay closed much better than you see in Heroes. These are Pros who abuse the hell out of these things, and their paint is free. They dont care about spilling paint lol.

they purposefully removed the springs to make the lid open faster.
