FYI that is not a 9 VDC VL Revolution, they are easy to spot because the switch is down near the feed neck and your's has markings for 2 - 9 VDC battery installation. This is a 12 VDC Revvy that may or may not have the X board in it.

If it's a 12v design how can it run on one 9v. I ask because I have one as well just like this and thought the same thing

It is basically a DC servo motor and this type of motor will actually run on a wide range of voltages just at different speeds. I've run old 9VDC Viewloaders on 2 series 9 VDC batteries (18 VDC) for higher speed which is well beyond the design limit of the motor which sometimes would burn out. That is why they came up with the 12 VDC regulated units. Runs faster then 9 VDC but within the typical 15 vdc limit and you have longer capacity due to using two batteries. If I remember correctly the motors are rated 7.5 vdc - 15 vdc.

So, does this run off one or two batteries, Euangelion? If it only needs one battery to work, I'll take it. It's always nice to have a spare.
