I was there that year and several others... Dewayne was nice enough to tell me later in the afternoon before we left that it was a small tornado that had gone thru on the south side of his property.

oh i have a whole story about 3 grown adults being in a tent and realizing that the bathroom was probably a better/safer idea.. so we jumped out and ran through the rain and spent the rest of the night in that wonderful smelling restroom

i always assumed thats what the red color on the storm radar was like if you are on the wrong end of it.. the tornado is news that makes a whole lot of sense

Yeah '03 was actually the 2nd one, there was one in 2000 or 2001 as well.... But what can you say, it's Tornado Alley. I just lived north about 3.5 hours in Kansas back then. Weather was always a crap shoot... never knew what you were gunna get. Regardless always had a great time with the friends I made there over the years.
