KP Rifle DUAL 12 GRAM PIERCING ASSEMBLY

Uber rare KP Rifle Dual 12 gram Piercing Assembly.
I've had this for since 1986 (37 years), with the intention of putting it back into a KP rifle like I had back then. However due to a big change I'm not going to be able to do this for a while, so I'm letting it go if someone here is looking for it. You will need to provide a standard co2 plug knob to finish this off.

    $100 shipped in USA

I'm curious as to how this works and what it does.

You put two 12-grams in the lower tube, back to back. That is, the first one goes in neck first, then the second goes in butt-first. You then slide this in (again, it's missing the threaded knob) and as you tighten, the pin on the end pierces the front cartridge. Then either the rear cartridge pierces when you fire the first shot, or if converted to an insta-pierce, is pierced when the knob is tightened, as well.

The whole lower tube gets pressurized, between the valve's pin seal and the O-ring on this plug. You get roughly twice as many shots (natch) as a single cartridge.

Early pre-constant-air stuff, and even then, often took a back seat to Fasst-Changer knobs, Quicksilvers and Rat-Attaks.

                Doc.

I would assume removing the face seal for the 12 gram. I would be interested to see if you would have to re-tune the marker to compensate for the increase in volume of the lower tube. Super neat! Nice snag Jeep!

I would assume removing the face seal for the 12 gram.
-Oh, right, forgot about that part. The one I saw had a modified end cap- the valve body piece that originally held the stock 12-gram seal. As I vaguely recall, it'd be fitted with a 007 piercing cup, and may have had a small extra hole drilled to vent the tube straight into the valve. I'm assuming the cup seal was also replaced from the one with the piercing pin, to a standard Sheridan.

It's been a while since I saw one in person, and at the time I wasn't fixing anything valve related.

I would be interested to see if you would have to re-tune the marker to compensate for the increase in volume of the lower tube.
-Not really. The valve chamber stays the same size, and the gas passages from the 12-gram chamber to the valve are small enough they won't make much of a difference.

You do lose some of the overall shot count. That is, if your gun got 30 shots per cartridge before, it won't get 60 after the conversion- it'll be more like 52-55, since some of the pressure is 'wasted' filling the whole tube.

                  Doc.

On mine, there is a hole drilled in the chamber face assembly that allows air into the valve.

Here is a awful video showing the set up on a rifle. Not airing it up. One thing I don't mention in the video is that the front 12 gram tube plug has to be drilled out so the plug can rotate freely. I received some of these from Stan Russell a while back and sold them on my site. Stan was making them for Mac 1 and they were used in the Pump Twist Dual Rifles and other Mac 1 products. I don't think it was Stan's innovation though. I think Stan mentioned they were in other Sheridan products from way back.
The dual 12 gram co2 adapter was developed by Mac 1 and used prior to paintball. This adapter was used in the following paintball markers, Long barrel K rif...

Oh here is an even better video with Stan Russell talking about the Dual 12 gram plug.
Stan Russell explains the required pieces for the dual 12 gram adapter and how it work in the lower tube of a K Series Sheridan rifle. These will also work i...
