think your OG dye barrel is a phantom barrel. I had a boomstick like that, the threads weren't quite right. Several manufacturers made phantom barrels with the wrong threads. They would work on some bodies and not on others and they stopped working as the threads got a bit of wear.

You are right about the Phantom. I am going to try it out on the phantom this next weekend and see if I like it.
