Did this thing work pretty good? I'm looking for a chrony and wasnt sure which ones under $400 worked well

They work pretty well, but tend to be finnicky getting them in the right spot for a reading in my personal experience.

They work fine but I echo they can be difficult to put in the right spot. I have a video of testing this one against an x-radar before it sold where I show how it's done. Happy to send the link if you want it.

I personally prefer the x-radar but it can be a bit more expensive.

It's a good video because I legit forgot how to use the radarchron and re-teach myself in the video with tips on how to use it.

      Video test: https://youtu.be/QY3ag9NmiyU

Removing 2 outliers here are the results. I know my X-Radar reads about 5ish FPS high. So the RadarChrone actually performed quite well. You'll need to test against a few field chronos to do a final check.

      RadarChron - Average = 280 FPS
