1990 Hornet Paint Guns 'Hornet' Pump! 1st loader fed center feed production gun!

    SOLD SOLD SOLD

Up for sale a very rare Hornet Paint Guns 1990 'Hornet' Center Fed Pump with 17" Barrel! This is a very unique set up that even most collectors don't know about. This was the first production paintball gun made with a hopper fed, center fed body. It actually mounts the hopper/loader to the pump handle itself. They moved the hopper out of the way for sighting by using two copper elbows (see pics). These copper elbows are held into the delrin pump handle with a screw. There are no pump handle 'arms', instead the huge thumbscrews go right through the handle itself and screw directly into the bolt. It uses standard Nelson components fyi. I just aired it up and it actually held air and fired (no paintballs, just co2)! These were so weird at the time they really didn't sell and were not a hit with the 80/90s pump crowd to say the least, which accounts for such a small number of these ever actually being built. I can't remember the last time I saw one of these available. A true collectors gun.

Neat guns, I have somehow stumbled across two of them, years apart on my local craigslist. I think bacci has both of them now.

I bought one of these from Paul Vasquez when he sold them out of his garage. It also came with a custom patch. I brought it out to Field of Fire one day, and Earon Carter made fun of me. It did look funny with the elbows on the pump, and Earon Carter is about aesthetics. Regardless of how it looked, it did function as intended.

He said, "watch out guys, that guy over there is using a hornet!" Earon knew Paul, and he was not impressed. I sold the marker to a teammate after that game. Here's a pic of the Hornet, which was the 20 inch model. My buddy actually liked it a lot, and didn't mind the pump mounted elbow and hopper.

This is an excellent specimen. Good luck with the sale, Sir!
