Very first gen 2 micromag prototype

Pending sale within moments...So I picked this up from Sergey at lapco a few years ago. He told me that this was sent to him by Forrest to see if we could cut it down and put a barrel on it. This is the end result. The prototype barrel actually has a slot for a detent Midway through the threaded shank. This started life off as a gen 1 micromag. Forest has been contacted a few years ago about this marker and being a prototype. This is also verifiable through Sergey if anybody can get through on the phone. Asking $500 or close to it if it's a serious collector. Feel free to ask any questions and I will answer as best as I can but I don't think this is going to last long.

Absolute piece of PTP/Micromag history. We needed to quickly figure out how to move to a Gen ll, and since almost everything at that time was either Automag, or Autococker - and I will add, that when one of those platforms was not working out for someone, it was commonly put aside to make the switch, and then also in many cases switched back... I figured that offering the Autococker thread was the best of both worlds, because lots of people had a big investment in Cocker barrels, and since we equally supported WGP, as well as AGD, it seemed like a perfect marriage. Sergey was really young then, but was really brilliant, as was his father, which is another story based in literally World War II history, and he was able to very quickly sort this out faster than we could do here while concentrating on production of the Gen 1, and a transition to the removal barrel. I'm not sure if we did the barrel mod then, or a bit later, although there were only literally a few that we did, and they actually worked very well. Eric Ogden actually has a Cool Camo barrel with this mod, that I had held aside for him when he came down to help do some sorting at the warehouse this week. In general, this is simply one of a kind, and I will have a little closer look at it in the morning, but really is a great piece!

Forest just gave me a barrel and he told me it was a prototype, and it has the exact same detent system as yours.

I would guess the detent style is similar to the LVL 5 Mags, where it's a cut in half reg seal. I think I have a twistlock barrel from Bob Fowlie that came with this style detent.
