I also agree that they must be some type of Wedgit. Not a bad idea actually. I may try it on one of my spares. Could work nicely with a tipped or complete nylon screw with an appropriate spacer

I can't upload any more pictures on this site any more??? I tried yesterday and today on diffrent connections still I just get a constant loading screen . I'll send pics if they ever let me post on here again.
But to answer your question no, they don't protrude.(but they can if you screw thrn in) Also I have a video of me shooting it showing the balls come out so those screws don't interfere with the balls

could those screws be an attempt at a backspin mod? they are pretty far back on the barrel for that, perhaps they previous owner was trying to make a different detent.
