    Nice Tippmann Pro-Carbine

    $85 + Shipping firm

Full fresh rebuild about 2 years ago, powertube and gasline adapter have been drilled out for better airflow. Valve spring has been lightened, trigger springs have been replaced with Model 98 lighter springs. Has an RVA. Shroud has been modified to fit an A-5 classic freak back (included). Bolt has been ramped to handle small modern paint. Shoots absolutely amazing, I definitely consider this peak Tippmann, but I don't need two of them.

    Any questions just ask.

If you still have this, I'd be thrilled to buy it. My Pro Carbine is stock, and I'd like to keep it that way for posterity, but this is a dream setup for regular play. I'm new to this board, but if you'd like, I'd be happy to link you my eBay feedback if you need a better picture of me as a buyer. Thank you for your time, and wonderful job on this build. There's been nothing since as wonderfully satisfying as the Carbine lineage.

It's currently pending to a local player, I'll let you know if it falls through!

Thank you! Definitely I definitely put a bit of work into it! 😂 And I very much agree, nothing really comes close to the carbine line. Such sweet guns.

Thank you. If it doesn't fall through, would you be able to point me in the right direction to replicate it? Mine leaves a lot to be desired on HPA.

Ok, I'm glad I'm here. Fields simply are not interested in helping actually upgrade these old things, and new markers are of zero interest to me whatsoever. I'll admit I know basically nothing. This thing is topping out at like 260, usually running between 240-265 randomly. Where do I actually, reliably get parts for this? What diameter should I be drilling when I start going down that route, etc.? Pretty much the only thing anyone online seems to have in stock are o-rings, and my local field already rebuilt those.

What parts do you really need? They take 98/A-5/x7/project Salvo/etc. main springs. Probably 5/32 for the hole to drill the fitting, any larger isn't really beneficial since the valve will restrict it anyway.

Alright, once I feel confident doing it, I'll try drilling it 5/32. As for parts I really need, I don't really know, and I need to keep trying to dig into the pits of the internet to try and find an answer. It seems like a super high pressure regulator would help, but those are unobtainable nowadays, out of stock everywhere. I also hear new hammer springs can help? I want this thing to run at around 280 for recball play, it's just not getting consistent air flow. Sometimes it just runs away in auto until I disconnect the tank or it runs dry. Maybe it's time to give up and get another one, I don't know. Anyway, not trying to bore you. Just been sitting down lately and wanting to really tackle this problem and get a Pro Carbine running like a top. I'm just happy to have found a place full of people who are knowledgeable about older markers. In person, every answer I get is "get an Emek," which I won't do because every modern marker is identical and devoid of character.

Carbines, especially the pro/carb IMHO was the finest marker ever produced out of Fort Wayne.

Later models were innovative and creative, but the pro/carbine is, (as the kids say) “peak” Tippmann

      good luck with sale!

Definitely drill it, if your nervous I'd recommend a nice mid shelf scotch. A super HPR isn't really necessary, you can almost always shim up your regular tank reg to output more. My local pro shop normally does it for free. Hammer springs can help, but normally they aren't the real issue, you'll get more distance out of a weak valve spring and opening up the airflow on the rest of the internals like the power tube. The freak barrel also helps just from having a tighter bore, but honestly on Tippmanns just a 0.685 is usually good enough for even the tiny paint. The occasional full auto sounds like an issue with the hammer "o" ring. Make sure it's oiled well.

Totally with you on hating the emek. The only eclipse gun I own is a B2K, and while it is very nice, I don't feel the need to have more of them. There just isn't a whole lot to do with them most of the time, they are boring.

Yeah, I definitely prefer something that needs tuning and tweaking. Something with character. I'll check that hammer o-ring, thanks. Gonna take this one step at a time.

I drilled a couple reducers yesterday. Finally got
The last couple loaners done. It is really easy. If you screw it ip I promise you can find a replacement to try again. I bet it gets ypu up to at least 265 to 280. Keep in mind this is really important as the first mod. If you don’t have good flown to the valve, increased pressure and even a new mainspring won’t help as much.
And if you need parts the best source is probably our wtb section.
