WTB Stanley FatMax utility knife

[rawbutter]

I'm looking for a very specific knife that's not sold anywhere anymore.

I've found a few places online that have a picture of this knife on the sale page, but they always send me something different that looks like this.

Anyone have an old one sitting in a drawer somewhere that you never use?

Thanks. I saw that. I messaged the seller some questions, but it's not going to work for me. The wipers on the front of that knife aren't intact. That's the whole reason I want to replace mine.

You got me curious. Blade wiper sounds smart.

I'll say this. I've ordered 5 of these knives so far from places that have the right picture, and then I get the wrong knife mailed to me. I've tried calling places before ordering, but the customer service people on the phone don't have access to the warehouse where the items are kept. They're in a different department. Hell, the way companies are structured these days, they might be in a different county. But they assure me all the same that the website pictures are accurate, because why wouldn't they be? Then I get the wrong knife and have to return it.

Returning the knives does give me a little joy, though. If your company is so big that you can't take the time to ensure your sale pages are accurate, then you deserve to lose some money on returns once in a while.

I might try Staples. I don't think I've ordered from them yet. I do really want this knife. Sometimes things stick to the blade and get pulled into the knife when you retract the blade. Then you have to take apart the knife to clean it. Blade wipers prevent this.

If there is ever a first and second gen of anything and the first one is better in some way, MCB is interested.

What is it about 'the good one' that we like so much.

3d print wipers is probably what you gotta do since they are bound to wear.

Design a product that people like and then simplify manufacturing to take away the little things they bought your product because of. Perfect business plan. What could go wrong?

Did norgen fittings change?

Did norgen fittings change?

yes, the fitting in that pic is the older generation - if you order them now you'll almost certainly get this - which works but has a very different form

I'll stop hijacking rawbutter's text now. Free bump at least?

The second photo is a camozzi fitting. Order norgrens from air soldier or another reputable shop.

Edited to provide link. Asp is still active order with confidence https://airsoldier.com/product/norgr...line-fittings/ he hasn't given up on paintball yet.

And yeah the camozzi are inferior tho they are marginally lighter weight when comparing both of the swivel variety.

And we are keeping this thread on top!

Get em 3d printed for real.

I attempted to order a few norgrens from ASP not too long ago but he sent me the new style without any prior communication so returned it. I get he's a one man operation, but it took a month just to get the wrongly picturered fitting so that was disappointing. He did mentioned he was meaning to update the listing which doesn't seem so 😕

Nope, the second photo is right off IMI Norgrens site.

I ordered from ASP a year ago and got this new style, in a sealed norgren bag.

Soooo anyone have a Gen 1 fatmax tho

[Cunha]

Thanks for Intel guys. Bad news. And yeah camozzi fittings looked like that first and sucked because the retaining collar was hard to use.

Do they make a non swivel in the new style? Does it have the same collar as the original style?

I don't use macro a lot but it's still a bummer.

Let's get this guy a fatmax gen one utility knife!

Thread Jacking again - has anyone ever found a thread compound like they use on those fittings. I've looked - I remember asking Tim Firpo about it once and he said if I ever found it let him know - he's tried for years.

one of my old employees did own that Gen 1 fat max. it was pretty trashed though. As a daily user and lover of a good utility knife I can't imagine that squeegee worked that well.
this is my Jam. love this Design

I tried getting that specified on a machine several years back. Quantities were prohibitive - I think they started at 100k pcs.
