Fellow Opus coffee grinder - refurb

Had an exciting month where a rock in the beans destroyed my coffee grinder. I bought an Opus 2, but then contacted Fellow to get parts to repair my now-dead Opus. They shipped me a whole refurb grinder instead.

Since I don't need both, I'm selling it. Defray the car repairs, etc...

$125 + shipping $100 shipped, new(ish) in the box they shipped it to me in.

It's a surprisingly quiet burr grinder (it's all relative), and I used mine successfully for espresso (Gaggia classic) set at a 2-3/10 as well as pour-overs, siphon pot, and French press (set at 6 or 7). Huge range on it. It does tend to retain a bit unless you mist the beans to cut the static.

stock photos since it's still boxed:

My wife is very aware I'm selling this so I'd have to flip paintball stuff quick enough to get away with it. But I'm as guilty of justifying a paintball gun as the next guy.

I'm on a Nelly kick at the moment... bore drop internals and aluminum pump handles would be the very top of the list.

I have this grinder. Its very consistent. It does like to hang out to some, but I usually " pump" the cap and or tip it slightly and bump it to drop the last bit of beans. Its otherwise amazing.

I make cold press at 120 grams a a batch at setting 9. And or I use it at 6 for my hot pour over. 4 for aero press, and I blew my manual hand espresso pump up long ago, so I rarely fine grind.

I'll be honest, the Opus 2 is nice (way less retention and static, so my countertop is cleaner, which matters a lot to my wife) but the o.g. Opus was better at making espresso grinds. I think I need to shim the burr on the 2 to get the range a little finer.

I have an ode v1, which means it has a few shortcomings (static mainly). but it's a beast and is very quiet.. we dont have a need for espresso grind or i would be in touch
