WTB - Dummy Detents

Looking for a half dozen or so (can’t have too many spares), but I’ll take 1 if that’s all I can get.

I know there are a few of us looking for these.

I had one and it was great. But I had a ball break and when I pulled the barrel to clean I dropped it at the field (forgot it was in there). I spent a long time looking for that little guy too…

He printed them in like a flexible plastic. If someone can start with a Phantom version you can put me down for a bunch of them. Even if they cost a lil more then they use to especially If it makes it worth your time.

Which one of you plastic print wizards wanna make some of these things?

shooter311 I appreciate it! But I gotta give you something for them. I’m lookin for several of them so I’m going with paying.

I’m sure someone still has one they can post up so you can see. They’re very basic. Just a ring in that is sandwiched between the body and the barrel with 3 “fingers” pointing towards the center that can flex as a ball passes through. Similar to a StockClass feedgate.

I'll print a bunch, I have made them before out of pla but they didn't last long. So I'll print them out of tpu. I'll start a post in the dealer section after I get a batch printed. Cost should not be anyone worry with these things ...

He printed them out of a flexible material it was more rubber like not exactly sure what it was. I think that’s the key to durability. I imagine print direction plays a part as well. I’m going to look and see if I still have one somewhere and get detailed pictures.

I think that he actually made them from 2 different materials. One side was a harder plastic (PETG maybe?), just a ring, to help keep rigidity. And the other side was TPU-ish (a ring and the fingers). As I recall, in his instructive it said something like "make sure you put the shiny side toward the breach"

Not sure if he had a dual material print head, or just stopped it mid print to switch materials.

And then again, I could be completely wrong.

Anyway, I don't have a phantom anymore, so I think I'll bow out of this one.

From memory, this is accurate. The one I had was definitely two materials. The ring on I side was shiny and harder then what the fingers were (and has a different texture)

That is really good to know. It would help if someone could provide me with an existing one, or pictures would be best. I could print in two different materials as I do have an IDEX printer. TPU at that thinness would not do well with holding shape.

This is exciting. It’ll be nice to see this option available again as a more affordable alternative to the ASP detent

I love my ASP mod! But this is a much simpler (and cost effective) solution. I use it on my T2 and it’s great for the really small paint. (I only have a 0.684 back for now but have others coming)

I switched my VSC Phantom over to a 10” Deadlywind with Freak XL inserts but I want to keep using my old Phantom threaded gunmetal grey J&J barrel that I’m very partial to on my open class Phantom. These detents would be a cheaper way to enjoy that setup without rollouts
