Yup, they are insanely hard to come by. Still kicking myself for letting go of the 1upkids all those years ago.

Since I don't know the original retail, out of curiosity, what is a mint condition Mantis worth approximately?

It also depends on if it's lime green or the black version. Lime green and the few 1upkids tattooed guns go for that typically while the black with lime green accents being less sought after.

Hard to say because it's all what people are willing to pay. Historically, they've sold between the 500-800 range. Although, they don't move quickly outside collectors.

Thank you for that valuable piece of information, quite literally. The "trinket" I was given as a present apparently turned out to be a nugget of gold.

A couple of years ago I was graciously given a "not sure what kind of Ego it is" after closing a completely separate deal. The mystery Ego turned out to be a mint condition Mantis, the black flavor. Not for sale, unfortunately.
