    WTB Tippmann Pro/Carbine sear

    IT WAS THE HAMMER SPRING

    ****

My Tippmann pro/carbine is going full auto and I think it must be the sear.

Anyone have a sear in newish condition?

Or advice on how to refurbish my sear?

Can you post up some pictures? Those sears are built like absolute tanks. It's more likely an issue with the springs wearing out or the bolt not blowing back far enough.

I could dig through my parts bin once we have for sure identified the issue and we'll see what I have.

That certainly looks used, but I'd be looking more at the hammer then the sear in this situation, since the hammer is significantly softer. *If* it is the sear, you can just throw it in a vise and gently bump the top corner to a sharper point.

Only do that if you have ruled out all the springs and have a fresh seal on the hammer though. Tippmann parts should have springs in stock, you can use a needle nose to use Gen 1 98 springs (the extension style, NOT the compression style).

I already replaced the hammer with one from iisports.com that looks pretty much new. Hammer spring is brand new also. The problem is either the sear or the valve.

Did you replace the sear spring?
