WTB empty HPA tanks for movie

Hey all. I'm looking for HPA tanks to making into a prop for a crime movie I'm working on. Empty is fine, even preferred. We have some 13ci tanks but even smaller would be better, maybe around 5-8in long with 2in diameter. It looks like 9ci tanks aren't sold anymore, so I'm taking a shot in the dark.

Does anyone have any old/empty 9ci tanks that they'd be willing to ship to us?

I don't have the 9 cubic inch HPA tanks, but i do have several 13 ounce and 20 ounce aluminum CO2 tanks that are past expiration. I don't have one in hand right now to measure, but from memory i would say that the 13 ouncers are about the size of a 9 CI tank and the 20 ouncers are 18 CI tank (someone correct me if i am wrong)? If those would work, I would be surprised if you didn't find a BUNCH of expired CO2 tanks from members here (or am i the only one who still has them...).

Did you mean 12oz, instead of 13oz? A 12oz CO2 is probably closer in size to a 26ci HPA bottle The 26ci HPA, that I have, is 2 1/2 inches in diameter.and 11 1/2 inches long.

HCTF Props are you planning to fill them with HPA? Are you needing the reg. also? What's the intended use in this crime movie?

We are basically designing a fake torch that needs to fit into a specific case. We won't be filling it up, it's not a practical tool, so size is key. And we'll empty them regardless, just to avoid the actors running around with compressed air.

Could you use an old CO2 bottle instead? What I'm meaning is, that you're likelier to source a shorter 2 inch diameter CO2 bottle. Like the 3.5oz and 4oz. They are about 6 1/2 inches long and 2 inch diameter.

If you get a chance to measure these, I'd love to know the dimensions. Sounds like it might be what we're looking for. (I'm not sure how private messaging works here.) Thank you!

I have a handful of 9oz CO2 tanks. Those are roughly the same size as the 9ci tanks.

I can drain them and if you want remove the valves as well

Why not just 3D print something then. Be a lot cheaper.

9ci bottles are super hard to find and sell for a premium + they are lifetime hydro exempt so it’s not like you will find one that isn’t still Usable.

Chuck has a point here. Unless you need them to be metal for some reason, a printed version will be lighter and you can paint them to look however you want.

There's plenty of guys on this forum that can do amazing prints, I've purchased stuff from a few of them if you need to find someone to do that
