Got a great deal on a Tippmann A-5 from local legend Ajackz and I just want to complete it. Hell of a lot cheaper than a CS3P mech frame. I've included the new prices (w/ shipping) I've found these things for online. If you can match them or do better I'd rather give the business to MCB.

Depending on my adapter hunt I might be interested. Do you have anything that takes a Freak insert? Achieving 300FPS with any degree of efficiency seems to be my biggest challenge at the moment given my local field paint rolls through my .675 insert.

Maxwell the issue with an insert barrel for an a5 is the fact that the bolt actually enters the gun when cycling. I believe the magic number is .684 or less when they are prone to snagging the insert and pulling it back into the breach.

I think a5 freaks need to capture the insert with a shoulder.

BrickHaus That is a very interesting problem I wouldn't have thought of. I'm guessing the bolt is going further into the barrel than a Phantom, or the bolt shape causes the issue. I wonder if Deadlywinds made extra space for their adapter to address this. 🤔 Thanks for the heads up.

Edit: Just got of the phone with DW, they did experience this issue in an early version of the adapter but revised it to include a space and it is no longer an issue.

If you get a front bolt that has the o ring further back and then taper the front of the bolt you can use smaller inserts with no problems.

Another good option. Since I'm looking to use my DW Freak XL barrel I should be good though. I was happy they'd built around the issue.
