[WTB] Autococker to Tippmann 98 thread converter

Surprised these seem to be sold out everywhere I know to look. Looking for a barrel adapter that allows autococker-threaded barrels to be used on a Tippmann 98. It's going to be used for a Freak back so I assume the shorter the adapter, the better (the lapco adapters look a bit long).

You're going to run into issues using adapters and freak barrels.

Ecapnation I thought as much which is why I assumed using shorter adapters would be preferable. Will that still negate the benefits of bore matching the insert to the paint? Perhaps I should look for a 98 threaded freak back instead, which also seem to be sold out anywhere I know to look

Not exactly what you're looking for, but another solution which I was going to buy recently. ANS Gear has the DLX 1 Piece Carbon Fiber barrel for Autococker for $63 and then they also sell the DLX 1 Piece Carbon Fiber barrel adapters for $18 and have Ion, 98, A5 and Cocker threads available.

I was going to do this for my mech SP1 but I ended up picking up a used Ion Freak back instead.

Yes, you'll be going from breach.... .72 shooting into an adapter at .690 into whatever insert you have.

Its a fantastic way to break paint

Ecapnation you've convinced me. I assume the mods are the only ones with the ability to close threads?

You can find 98 thread OG freak backs, and should you want XL inserts there are tips to convert OG backs to XL inserts
