    Broken Typhoon feedneck.

I picked up what I believe is a Typhoon off Ebay with a broken Feedneck, the break looks clean and nothing out of round. I at the time thought this might be something I could tackle but I believe this is out of my comfort zone. The Typhoon has the standard pps dust nickle finish.

I'm not sure who to inquire with about this so im open to suggestions.

    Thank you

I bet this is something DocsMachine could tackle, but not sure what his work load looks like.

      You rang?

First, yes, I believe that's a Typhoon, as the lower hammer tube is longer than the barrel tube. A Stroker would have them the same length.

As for the repair, those are tricky. Palmer's used a higher-temp solder, which is stronger than typical plumbing solder, but still much lower temp than silver solder. It's been my experience that it can be fixed, but the nickel plating around the repair will darken somewhat from the heat. I've had moderate luck with various metal polishes to try and bring it back, but it seems it will always look a bit 'tarnished' at the fix.

As Supes notes, I'm a bit busy at the moment- pretty much a standard condition, really - but if you're not in a huge hurry, I'd be happy to take a look at it.
