Does anyone Know if a SKS is already cut out enough to fit a chopped 98 inside? The tippman is about 1.25" wide.
The SKS looks pretty beefy inside.
There is enough wood to work with.. I have put a 98 in an SKS stock. It required a longer trigger. I can't remember if i custom made the trigger or used a factory double trigger.
I did a MP 18 mod and used a beat up Kar - 98 stock. I am gluing parches in the stock and thinking of getting a SKS that is of a similar appearance (they seem to be common)
The MP18 would be best accomplished with a shortened bolt action stock that has a solid wood fore end, since the MP18 has a short stock to begin with. The SKS will require a lot of filling at the front end. An old paintball or pellet gun stock would work too.
The sks has a similar profile.
Indeed i was looking at some air rifle stocks.
I removed material up front with a table saw and dull chisel.
The problem area is the cutout for the bolt on my mauser stock. I also prefer the Enfield look as as well.
