    Saturday Night Special

    Hello!

This is a "Repost" from my defunct Shop forum...

Grimace is responsible for this idea with all the GTA 5 time I got on his 360 when he lived here. Coupled with this one tinker's iteration - http://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/t...berius-8s.html - I though I could something like this and maybe a bit better than JB welding the thing together.

In GTA 5, it's called a Saturday Night Special.

One already did one of these on MCB / FB. His build thread is limited, but I was able to get access to his photobucket pics which pretty much show his process for making a "Mini Tiberius":

He hacked the Tac 8 down; essentially cutting the "middle" out from the Tac 8 tip. The logic behind this is that the Tac 8 NEEDS that bridged nose to hold the tip of the barrel in place. So to shorten the receiver, this was his best option... JB Weld -

The problem with JB Weld, is that on metal, such as aluminum, it "lifts" with the metal sweats. I could not find the thread that said this, but someone else made one of these mini Tac 8s the same way with JB Weld, and in the middle of the game, his receiver tip broke off and shot the barrel across the field.

Again, JB Weld is not meant for long term application with metal. And it's this opinion that makes me so popular with folks....

His goal was to make a 9M size of Tac 8 -

    Before the paint job -

    With the Barrel installed -

Semi painted. You have see the JB weld lines. On plastic, this should hold. -

    All painted Purdy -

I located a cheap SA 8 as I prefer them to the Tac 8s. It came with issues and I have been doing little things here and there, but mostly with hand tools.

    I'll update more soon (hopefully).

I've been taking out my anger issues on the markers themselves -

And with the reg back anodized finally, I am finally ready to put this bad boy together.

At the moment though, we are having issues with replacement seals...

      Update as of 5/20/21:

I still have this as a project. I need seals still. Also need a reg back that I can modify to make the marker safe for paintball.

Yes. But the project was started in 2014. Way before the FSC. :-D
