    MILSIG K-Series Conversion

    Hey,

So a buddy of mine has owned a K series from new and over the last couple of years has been chopping and what not. Found the mags (Round head) weren't feeding properly, and I found his bolt had broken and was slicing balls.
I designed a new bolt and had it printed, but we still have the mag issue to deal with. He wants to go shaped rounds, so I grabbed a Grizen mag (the 12 rounders Milsig released). Since it has a square head, I have some choices to make, and would love some input.

I can either mill out the current body (I've seen all the YouTube videos), which I could easily do. But I'm starting to wonder if either milling or printing new clam shells (Or design a one piece if possible. Which I think with the power tube that may not work) that will accommodate the square head.

Now, before anyone starts saying "It's not worth it", we know. He has his eyes on other markers, but isn't able to dump the capital to get them. So I'm trying to get this thing operational for him because he loves it, and it's his baby. I think everyone can understand that, and how frustrating breaking balls is lol.

Thanks in advance for your help.

PS. If this needs to go into the magfed section I apologize, since it seemed more of a customization thing I posted here.

PPS. I can include pictures if anyone would like some photo reference.

    Thanks!

The mags probably have weak springs. You should be able to take the springs from other continuous feed mags of a similar size and replace them. I know that wouldn't address your other issues but it would be the cheapest and easiest option to at least get it running.

I thought about that, but the followers get hung up halfway through the channel. Tried polishing them up and lightly lubing the system, but they keep catching halfway.

Yep, that's the sign of worn springs.

Yeah I think he had changed them already. These mags are old, and the ratchet system with the cable is a bit janky lol.
