Stock class pistol project

Hi all,

I've been working through the prototyping phase on this project for awhile and wanted to share here to get some ideas. This concept came from making a T2/PGP hybrid pistol and this is where I have it so far. All aluminum minus the Sheridan grip on there now and the bolt assembly. Setup to run 11/16 autococker lower tube internals and this one has a Tanto barrel from Doc. The body tubes are one piece and threaded for an ASA in the lower there so it can take a bucket changer. Bolt is a three piece design made of delrin but I think the threaded part needs to be stainless or aluminum. The bolt pin is stainless.

I wanted the stock feed to be reversible and removable to add a direct feed option but prices for prototyping are steep and go up with the more pieces you add.

Questions:

1. Do you think this setup is better or would you be interested in a one piece, side tubed body?
2. Bolt action ok or must it have a pump? From my experience I prefer bolt action for pistol play to lock the bolt in and not lose velocity on shots.

I love it. The convertible feed is a huge plus imo.

Bolt action is fine too especially if you make a D shaped cut on the body so peeps can hand load fs rounds after removing the feed block.

It make a 90* asa for the bucket changer myself. Seems like it would suck to change 12ies on this as configured.

Personally I think side tube and bolt action would be the best. It would probably be a pain to design, but being able to switch the feed/bolt cycling from left to right would be really cool.

Love the bucket front. Side tube makes things look cleaner in my opinion And I prefer bolt action on all my pistols too. Great work there

This is like the lovechild of a superstocker and a scout. I think with how it currently sits a pump handle would be tough to integrate and still make it easy to change the 12 gram.

What about a drop out and slot the handle.

Bolt action is cool tho I like it. How dose the cocker valve do with the 12g in that location?

That’s why I was thinking a thread in drop out. There is one in the BST. Not the phantom drop out valve this threads in the ASA ware you have your bucket. Then you could use a modified phantom over barrel handle dual rods to the cocking Mech in the back. Slot it for the drop out. Twist knob in the front like an Doc extended knob. Drop out change falls out the bottom of the handle. Use the drop out as your guild rod like a PGP lower tube. Like a dual rod T2 back block to a CCI over barrel handle clearance for the top tube cut for a drop out and drilled for dual rods. Handle would be cheap and easy to cut being plastic. Maybe one of those Aluminum PGP handles might work too.

With the ICD you would need to clearance for the lever if you wanted to pump it I think that would be difficult. ICD would work if you kept it bolt action no problem.

I actually like the bolt action setup too. It’s probably easy to operate with the cocker internals. Just brain storming how you could pump it.

I haven't been able to test it yet as something is borked in the IVG threads. Either I had a dimension off or there is some burr in there but the valve is a VERY tight fit and I haven't put it in there for fear of not getting it out. Its been at a machinists shop for awhile but picking it back up this weekend and will see if I can assemble and fire it.

Looks like a fun project. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. I like that feed you could definitely make some money producing those.
