. If I install a QEV, and then run a line from the QAV back to the three-way, would it be possible to use that venting gas that releases the bolt, to effectively open up the three-way again, and almost create an RT? Or at least a snappier trigger?

I've kinda wondered about this, but you still need somewhere for the air to vent, I don't think that would be possible if you closed the loop like that. I think you need a different valve to attempt this. -
Kind of like the Tippmann RT uses the excess gas from the cyclone feed. It terminates, but even putting a little cut in the tube at the end of the line near the trigger, will allow it to vent, but still use some of the air to push the trigger back.Comment

No. All you've done is blocked the vent on the 3way and the QEV.
The Smav is spring return - it's not set up internally to allow air pressure to return the internal spool.
You might be able to set up an RT style piston to return the trigger, but I doubt there's enough pressure to make it work... and if it does, your mechanical dwell may not be long enough with the ram forcing the trigger forward almost immediately.
Keep in mind Ions need a chunk of time to fully empty the dump chamber - QEVs reduce that amount but with an RT ram pushing the trigger forward almost immediately you might find your velocity suffers greatly.Last edited by Jordan; 03-06-2023, 07:46 PM.Comment
