    SL 68 freak barrel

I own one of the Paintball DNA freak barrels and I saw a post not too long ago reviewing one, it got me thinking and wondering what your guys thoughts would be on a 3d printed freak barrel for the Tippmann SL 68/SL 68 II?

The problem with many guns printing a freak barrel is that they are not thick enough. So when you make it freak bored there is not enough material to make it strong enough. I have checked Spyder, impulses, tracers, and sterlings and they were all too thin.

No idea about a sl68 though. it is worth looking into. I can check next time I get a chance. If it could work I'll make one.

Interestingly enough I made a trracer barrel without freak and I don't think it ever broke a ball. It shot great and was so much more quiet. I know I have pics of it somewhere...

Edit, found it in motm, has silencer on it, not a good shot of barrel

Appreciate it! I've never done any 3d printing myself, just thought it may be an interesting idea.

There might be enough meat on the barrel to make one. The issue with the SL68 is the bolt seat in the barrel so the freak insert cannot seat all the way at the back.

One freak barrel made for the SL68 was in two parts and the insert was placed from the middle. Not sure if those fine thread would print easily

I made an adapter. Its freak bored(about 3/4 inch) just enough to stop roll outs.

I asked Doc to look into machining me some A-5 threaded .675 bored barrel adapters for the SL68 II Click image for larger version
