    Brainstorm sesh. Jt proshield beard

I love the og JT spectra/ proshield bottoms, but they don't run as long as a flex bottom.

As a result, ai have taken point black chin shots wearing proshields.

Now, I've had this idea in my head a while. Why doesn't someone design a beard, or skirt for the spectra bottoms? It could stack under the chin mounting bolts, and you could nest the edge along the bottom of the mask.

i realize I could get gator malle and or make my own chainmail, but I feel a skirt with similar designed venting would look nicer.

Now, before you guys tell me it shouldn't be done for safety reasons. My thought is, if you leave the mask unmodified, and ass a skirt, safety shouldn't be a concern, as the mask itself was enough to pass.

Well, I've been sick the past few days, and not well enough to accomplish anything, but not sick enough to actually rest. I pulled a proshield bottom out, and im quickly realizing cadding this profile is going to be a nightmare. Plus I doubt I can print one with my ender 3s envelope.

What do you guys think about the idea as a whole? Could make skirts, and print out of tpu to make of spectra more user friendly. If I got it figured out, aid just give the files up.

So what do you think? good idea, bad idea. Stupid?

Anyone have a scanner to download the chin profile easier?

Any other flaming you want to toss my direction. I'm here for it.

I like the idea, but I already have the bottom of the mask contact my chest when looking down. If it was a flexible 3d print it might work great!

My thought is make them out of tpu, so they would be flexible. I'd also only add .75 inches or so so it's a similar profile to a flex after the fact.

I think it's a good idea. Kind of like the old foam mask extensions.

I thought this was going to be a thread about how people with beards should wear proshields and I'm slightly disappointed.

Men with real beards shouldn't even wear bottoms. Just a frame and ears are enough.

What about the goggle masks that CK and gingerdynamics make?... Something like that, maybe mixed with iron on fabric backer to "stiffen" it up.

Anybody else remember the Vforce Morph or Shield (I think) that had the neck guard that could move independently?

That was the Morph, I think I still have one kicking around.

Extensions of some kind are a good idea. It’s wild how many masks leave the chin or lower jaw exposed

You could interweave hair, beard hair, dog fur or even pubic hair in a Gatormaille to make it look like a real beard?

Funny thing is that I've been planning on knitting "beards" for masks to go along with the tank covers that I've been making. Probably not the same concept you are going for, but maybe something to build off of?

For the record, this is the same reasons I wanted to make them... I've taken far too many chin and neck shots with my I4 and Vio masks

I'm just saying.. pm me a price for a beard that matches my new knit tank cover my dude if you have the desire that is... But that wouldn't stop my desire to create a jt spectra skirt.

The axiom has something like what you’re describing, I have parts of one you can have for shipping cost if you think you could use it.

incidentally, this reminded me of a video we thought was HILARIOUS in college when I was playing lacrosse. Sadly, it did not age as well as I’d hoped.

My suggestion would be the Ginger Dynamics goggleflauge as mentioned above, the hanging neck guard from a Ventz Predator or the neoprene jawline extensions from the old school Scott masks.

Maybe a fake beard that connects to the bottom of your spectras? Could be a good marked for us short bearded or non-bearded guys too!

I'm totally gonna get a gatormalle, but that'll go on either my crb mask, or a flex. I'm tryna make pro shields more user friendly for my loaners

Would printed chainmaille be robust enough? I am looking now and see some designs that seem very sturdy, maybe with a fabric backing to prevent any mishaps. Would be easily replaceable atleast.

Dieman, it may be. I've also seen a video where someone printed nasa fabric out of tpu that would also serve the purpose.
