Printing in an enclosure

Santa brought me a new Creality 3D printer enclosure this year. After getting things situated inside of it, I'm really happy with the results. Understand that I keep my Ender 3 in the basement on my workbench. Since the basement gets rather cold in the winter, it has made using my printer a very frustrating experience -- until now.

Despite the cold, my printer has been able to maintain a very consistent temperature as you can see.



Another benefit to this particular enclosure is the fire resistant lining. In addition to increasing fire safety, the reflective lining actually makes the small USB LED light bar I have actually usable with the basement lights off.



I should have picked one of these up years ago. Oh, and one more thing. That print you see above is PETG on glass. In the winter. I'm impressed.

That's pretty neat, I made an enclosure out of a server cabinet, but that looks more convenient.

Yeah. It was very easy to assemble and it has velcro flaps where they're needed (mostly). I would have appreciated an opening on the left side to make loading filament easier, but it's a small gripe.

Interesting they hadn't thought of that, but it kind of appears they straight up repurposed a grow tent, so maybe they did but cost would have gone up.

I went the route of Ikea Lack tables. Enclosures are a great idea regardless of how you get there.
