3D grips for single hole Automag and WGP frames

What's out there? I love the AGD rubber and SP wood grips for rh single hole frames, but is there a new and exciting and comfy 3D design out there worth looking at?

I just realized you could build a trigger guard back into the grips if you wanted to. I guess that would depend on the particular cut though.

I can't remember where i found these. They were hollow back with the slots , i adjusted them to be solid . Pin holes and screw holes were wonky but might have been because of the tweaking .

Is it the texture or the area just behind the trigger because your hand wants to slide up behind the double trigger mod?

I designed, printed, and stained/sealed a set in wood PLA. They worked well, but they were a real pain in the butt to make.

The ones posted are awful on single trigger frames. The top “notch” is just… wrong. I have OG contour WGP single hole plastic grips that I plan on 3d scanning here soon. By far the most comfy, better than AGD rubber grips in my opinion.

I am still working on this. I need to learn my new 3d scanner more but this aint half bad for a first go. It's pretty close to the original WGP plastics and extremely comfortable.

I'm always struck by the details compared to the flaws in scanner results. They catch dents and scratches while missing whole edges or produce holes in smooth sides. I assume it's all lighting.

For these, being slightly shiny abs plastic makes for hard scanning. I'm gonna get some scan spray and a zillion more targets for my turntable. I'm scanning with lidar on these with the revopoint inspire 2. The fact that I did minimal cleanup and threw it at the pinter - and it fits - is encouraging.

Another small update here - printing the latest scan with fuzzy skin to test. If they dont suck, I'll throw them on Makerworld. Honestly I have NO IDEA what I'm doing to try and clean these up from a raw scan. If anyone is good with blender or whatever and wants to help I'm all for it.

Depicted in white so you can see the fuzzy skin setting in my slicer. The other screenshot shows the raw scan pretty much without any cleanup.

Actually here's the STL if anyone wants to have a go at cleaning them up. Obvs you gotta mirror it to print the other side. When printing it's best to hit around a 45 degree angle. My fuzzy skin settings are Contour, 0.3mm point distance, 0.4mm thickness but play with it until you find what you like.

Alright. Once I get the model into cad and clean up the flat areas so they fit together better it should be really good. I’ll be honest, I like the texture on these better than the originals with the fuzzy skin!

The completed, cleaned up grips are available now on makerworld. Fit is excellent now. I reduced the texture in the print profile a little. Enjoy.
