A-5 to bolter conversion put here b/c I'm printing it myself)

Long story short, I'm making a shroud for my a-5 to looked like a bolt rifle.

I was gifted a 3d printer (older ender 3 with upgrades). Got it reasonably calibrated in a week or so.

So a scaled down version of original stl to give me visual things (and decisions on where to cut it apart to fit stuff).

I do need to adjust my z offset a little, I'll be adjusting that tonight.
But here's the test scaled down bolt rifle so far (I prefer it printing when I'm home, I can keep an eye on it better).

I'll update as parts are printed.

That's awesome. When you get this dialed in would you sell kits? I've got some spare a5s and my brother would love a bolter.

      Glovebox-

I didn't really think there'd be an interest. Lemme mull it over a bit. There's a few things that would be limiting making proper runs (each part is 16+ hours to make, I'd want it to be durable, would need a bracket to hold tank, needs the vortex mag conversion, etc). It'd be a several hundred dollars of parts (both I make, have made, and bought from a supplier).

Pic update of first proof of concept/scale print.

Honestly a body kit would be good enough. He'd never use the thing, it would just a cool wall hanger. I'm excited too see how this progresses. Looks great so far.

So I've attached part 2/3 together, to form the front section. Still need the last piece (trying to break it up so the seams don't like up.
Still figuring out the slicer/modeling software. But getting the hang of it.

I'll post a pic of the tank fit in a couple min (cat won't get off me).

      But so far so good.

Cat pic because she was cooperating yesterday.

Update. Tank fits inside wnlongated upper section, so the added 4 cm behind are wiggle room for asa, hosing, room to get it attached, etc.

Update. Front end sizing proto type I think good.

The hand area I could hollow out, not big enough for a tank. Open to thoughts/idea for it.

would it be too short for a tank? Perhaps a 3.5 could be the answer if thats the case.

Turn the tank around and build up the back a little bit?

Chemical- the tank will fit where it's planned to be. It's going above the barrel. Plenty of room there. I suppose I could put a second tank under, but I don't see the point. As is it's just wasted space. I'm thinking squeegee or something.

Glovebox- I don't follow. The tank of being mounted above the barrel, in that very large space. And building up the back, do you mean the uncovered a-5? I'm still printing, if that's the case. The only part that don't be covered is the grip frame.

Each section is 16-30 hrs long. So I'm just posting things as they finish.

For some reason I thought you'd said the tank wouldn't fit above the barrel, like you'd planned.
